Default Knicks - Heat rivalry from late 1990s

1997 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Heat won, 4–3
1998 Eastern Conference First Round: Knicks won, 3–2
1999 Eastern Conference First Round: Knicks won, 3–2
2000 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Knicks won, 4–3

2012 Eastern Conference First Round: Heat won, 4–1 ( Does not count, as Heat had a massive advantage by having Lebron).

What do you think if Giannis is out, we could see this rivalry in 2023.

That was honestly the most intense NBA rivalry that I've seen. Those teams seriously hated each other, multiple series with fights and suspensions. Not only did they go the limit 4 straight years, the last 2 series were decided by a single point.

But slow your roll on this one lol, they both could easily still lose.

It sucks that the Heat gooned their way to winning that first series, I feel like that was the best team to challenge the bulls that year. Meanwhile heat went down quietly against them.

Heat paid for it dearly as the Knicks daddy dkd them the next 3 years in retaliation, pretty sure the heat were a higher seed every year. Tim hardaway was locked up after the first year, both ward and childs took turns on him

I always felt those suspensions in '97 were really weak, esp considering PJ Brown instigated the entire thing. Zo followed that up fighting LJ in literally the final seconds of Game 4 the following year, stupidly getting himself suspended for Game 5, a game the Knicks would win comfortably.

And you're right about Hardaway, his numbers during those last 2 series were comically bad.

    1999: 9 ppg on 36%TS
    2000: 8 ppg on 37%TS
