Talented guy, beta mentality.
Shame too because he had what seemed like a breakout playoffs a couple years ago. Gave the Joker a lot of trouble on D and added an efficient 14-16 a game while being the 3rd/4th option.
Looked like that was just the beginning, but now it appears to have been the end

Why didn't phoenix just let him walk away when he tried signing a deal with indiana bt? Why did they have to match an offer, only to find out how much of a big disappointment he became later on? I know he was a rfa that time but still...

With all due respect you got this wrong. Ayton is not talented. People are charmed by #1 draft pick status. What does he do well? Finishing. After that his options on offense are all bad ideas. His defense was okay. It was never going to lead a team or mature into an identity. Evaluators just saw athlete and been giving a benefit of the doubt forever on him. He was not an all time defensive force in college either. There is nothing he has done at any level to believe he will be. Except this one matchup with the Joker?
