I think a 4 Bowen play would have to be some
Shit.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one in the NBA. You generally max out at three Bowens in basketball. And Karl Malone might be the all-time leader in them.

Bynum on Barea would be a 4 Bowen play
Artest on Harden & Raja on Kobe would at least be a 3.

I dont think there's anything about the play KD "shouldnt" have done. Players have to make some kind of contest if anyone's gonna take the game seriously. Just an unfortunate thing that happens sometimes.

I mean that wasnt really a "play." That was more just like... an assault

That elbow on Harden is pretty close to a four Bowen but I feel like he might try to bullshit you and pretend he didn’t mean it. He would show self-awareness enough to not acknowledge what happened. A true 4 Bowen? You gotta be willing to get on the stand and say “I did it.” and take your punishment with total disregard for the rules of society.
This is a 4 Bowen
Can’t argue. If you ask all that can be said is “I ****ed him up. Yes I meant to do it”.
if there is wiggle room to pretend you didn’t mean it, I might not be able to grant four. Artest on Harden is…tough. Almost a 3 and a half. But a 4 is pretty much just being a criminal and not trying to hide it.

Saw that play last night and was infuriated at the flagrant call.
The main thing to look at is Middleton jumped forward. His feet were behind the 3pt line and they ended in front of it. Straight facts.
As far as Durant goes? He performed a simple close out.
Bruce bowen used to slide his foot underneath you even when you were fading away and your landing spot was behind your takeoff spot.

Raja on Kobe was a 4 Bowen Alarm.
Real tough guy. Apparently 3ball played with him in college.

That's not a Bowen 4 alarm.
That's a Murder 2 charge.

What about when Wade broke Kobe's nose in an allstar game?

that’s what I’m saying. A four Bowen? Solid four? We aren’t even talking about sports anymore. We may all have on uniforms, and the game might technically be going on but at the moment of a four Bowen you’re in the streets.
You know that split second after somebody in MMA is clearly unconscious and the other guy has to decide this is still sports or he’s going to attempt to kill him? A four Bowen is those three or four blows that land on the out guy and the crowd has to boo you. It might be on the regular news not ESPN. That ref incident I pulled from a news broadcast.
We have to talk about calling the police. That’s a four Bowen.
