Durant did put on size, quite a lot actually. He came into the league weighing around 213 pounds and was up to 237-242 around his MVP season.

You'd be surprised at how much bullshit pro athletes do in their training. Hell, LeBron didn't even lift or stretch until like 4-5 years in.

Can you imagine somebody that looks like this...

Running up and down sprints 100s of times a game every other night? And then applying that level of muscle to guys like Reggie or Durant? Even Giannis is skinny built compared to powerlifters and football players. Basketball players aren't meant to be heavy lifters... it's a speed and endurance sport. Lance Armstrong wouldn't even fit on his bike if he had muscle like Jay Cutler.

Here's MJ starting his strength routine with Tim Grover. Look at :30 on. He's benching 160 lbs and using 35lb dumbells.

Basketball players would face negative consequences doing heavy lifting exercises all the time.

I'll post a reply to tpols just so ISB doesn't have to. Otherwise it's not worth a reply because there's so much wrong.

He didn't say ballers need to lift heavy.
Even if he did, lifting heavy does not mean benching heavy.
Even if it did, lifting heavy isn't a detriment for the reasons you think.
Even if it was, lifting heavy isn't what gets you huge.
Even if it did, MJ could do it all he wants, he's not going to turn into Mr. Olympia.

Homie the words lifting, stretching, flexibility are all loaded terms that alone mean nothing without the context of a specific sport.

The idea that weight lifting makes you stiff is a stereotype that applies to exactly what Tpols said about body builders nothing more.

What you’re suggesting is a balanced workout not just lifting weights. Lmao. Yeah duh. Lol. Kareem working with Bikram and strength trainers is gonna help.

    Seriously dude. Wtf.
