The market keeps getting ahead of itself and causing these monthly CPI fluctuations. CPI comes in low, yields fall and stocks rise, thereby loosening credit conditions. Loosened credit conditions then cause CPI to come in high, yields rise and stocks fall, thereby tightening credit conditions. Still sucks watching yourself lose money in real time though.Stocks fell. The Nasdaq was down 2%, while the S&P 500 was off more than 1%. The Dow industrials were down more than 300 points.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury note edged higher after the report to 4.264%.
Bitcoin hovered around $50,000, after crossing that threshold Monday for the first time in more than two years.
