Embiid playing for US is bush league

Just can't get over that the US needed to recruit a foreign player when they already had AD and Bam. It's just wrong.

USA basketball is dying.. This is what it looks like... This is how it feels... We have all these great players and massive talent edge, yet it feels empty and like we are vulnerable.. The fact that we no longer have the best players in the world is part of it (the top 5 NBA players are all from other countries) but the other part is that we've been breeding drive-and-kick spammers for the last 15 years, so our quality of team basketball is far inferior to other countries - we don't have the best brand of ball anymore, OR the best talent.. it will only get worse unless Silver gets rid of the hands-off, defensive 3 beginner format that produces this weak brand of ball, weaker hoops instinct and inferior skillsets.

That's just the standard for US basketball, US is dying in terms of keeping that gold standard. Lebron, Curry and KD are at that age where they can fall off a cliff and retire at any moment, and when that happens USA basketball will look by far its weakest ever.

I kind of understand this thread if Embiid was lighting it up, but he's been one of the worst players on the squad. He was the only US player with a negative +/- against Serbia with a -8. Hopefully he can turn it around.

Dude could have helped cameroon make the olympic qualifiers and been someone that made a lot of cameroonians proud. But nope, dude opted to play for the US.

Yeah Luol Deng putting South Sudan on the map basically proves that every excuse for Embiid is bullshit.

Embiid is very rich, he could easily pay his own insurance and fund the entire country's basketball system if he wanted. He seems selfish.
