Judge delays Trump sentencing in NY trial.
NEW YORK (AP) — A judge agreed Friday to postpone Donald Trump’s sentencing in his hush money case until after the November election, granting him a hard-won reprieve as he navigates the aftermath of his criminal conviction and the homestretch of his presidential campaign.
Manhattan Judge Juan M. Merchan, who is also weighing a defense request to overturn the verdict on immunity grounds, delayed Trump’s sentencing until Nov. 26, several weeks after the final votes are cast in the presidential election.
It had been scheduled for Sept. 18, about seven weeks before Election Day.
Trump’s lawyers pushed for the delay on multiple fronts, petitioning the judge and asking a federal court to intervene. They argued that punishing the former president and current Republican nominee in the thick of his campaign to retake the White House would amount to election interference.

Judge Merchan had been tough on Trump throughout the trial. Hit him with gag orders if my memory is accurate. So U would trust that his sentencing date is fair. Doesn't change NYC, it's always been president or prison for Trump. This case is just about how much he will get fined or probation or something.

You MAGA douches do realize that without a sentencing, Trump can't take this to the Supreme Court to get it overturned before the election?

The MAGAS told us every time Trump got indicted, convicted or sentenced, his approval numbers would go up.
Bye-Bye sentencing bounce.

That was more something for the primary. The Republican base was driven to nominate him by the idea that he's this revolutionary that the powers-that-be had it out for. That he is being unfairly persecuted. But the general public hates him. For proof I point out the lack of any kind of bump after the assassination attempt. Someone literally tried to kill Trump and he got no sympathy, just fake concern from other politicians (Harris, Biden, etc.) that don't care about him at all just don't want to look bad.
It's not a major victory but for Trump this is a win. It makes it so that one of the last things people think about him before the election won't be his sentence and the sentencing won't trigger him in those final days to say something else crazy. He's under a lot of pressure and doesn't handle it well and this is all making him age faster and driving his dementia. Things will still continue to get worse but at least this won't contribute any further.
