Embiid had had enough injuries for it to be unfair to say this about him. He should maybe see if he could stay healthy at 250 pounds but as he is we have a lot of proof that he just can't take an 82 game season.

It isn't just Embiid that is doing this crap in the league. There are a bunch of superstars that are "taking the day off" about every 4th game. Not because of injury but because the 82 games and a few back to backs is just so hard.

That has a lot to do with the teams, not just the players. Owner makes the same money whether a star plays or not, especially if the game is not nationally televised there's no downside to giving players rest. You could say that fans are being cheated but a lot of fans are in on it. If you're Sixers fan you are worried about having Embiid in the playoffs and if the price of that is a 50 game season then so be it. If you are a fan of the other team there's a good chance you will be happy to see your team get a win even if Embiid doesn't play. There are some fans that yes buy the ticket for their one chance to see some star in action and for them it sticks but overall this is a victimless crime.
Where I do wish a line was drawn is the nationally televised games. There have been a few times w where the league tried to showcase a match and teams decided to sit all their big names. That's bad for the league. But in this case Embiid is giving everyone a warning. So don't put Philly on TV.

In case embiid doesn't feel confident enough he'll make it unhampered, then why not take the IST seriously instead? I guess winning it is better than nothing at all. The only thing holding them back is george who may not be able to help him out there but who knows.

A bubble wrapped embiid still got more time than your boy in the olympics and actually contributed to the team.

Right. Feel free not to watch the ring ceremony Tuesday. This isn't a rivalry.

Re: Embiid says he will never play another back to back.
Back to backs are pretty stupid as is the 82 game schedule, but you're not changing this after 50 years.
The issue is more that teams have mostly given up on systems and culture. Remember that Pop was one of the first to rest players, but he did it because he could, because Spurs had a system and a plug and play culture. Most teams today that have superstars absolutely suck without their stars.

I think you underestimate this side of things. The NBA is a star-driven league, and every Lakers, Warriors, Suns game there are hundreds of kids taken there to see Lebron, Curry, or KD.

It isn't being quantified so we can only guess the impact. It's a fact that in this era of more load management than ever the NBA is making more money than ever. For the league it's only a real problem if it hurts owners' pockets. I realize that there are fans that only go to one game a year and it sucks if that one game the star doesn't play but no one has had to pay for it.

He has the nerve to question us on our stance, well go and question an actual NBA player on their stance and see what they tell you.
