Cavs Winning Streak Fluke or Legit?
Three things are frequently discussed during this streak.
* Even though the roster has remained unchanged since last season, Garland and Mitchell have finally figured out how to coexist and play together, and Garland has his confidence back. Last season, he seemed to struggle greatly coming back from the jaw injury that required his mouth wat be wired shut for an extended period of time.
* Even though Mobley's numbers aren't that different from his three seasons he is much more aggressive offensively than ever has been. It's evident when you watch the games and see that he's averaging almost 3-4 minutes less per game than his previous seasons, but he's averaging more makes and attempts. Also, his three has become respectable now so you have to come out on him sometimes. His freethrow percentage has greatly improved as well by almost 10%. One commentator said that last year in some games Mobley had more pump fakes than actual shots in games because he was so timid.
* Atkinson has seemed to have the players buy into their team identity which is to be aggressive offensively, shoot more threes. And be respectable on defense.
What do you think? Is it a fluke or are they legit a Top 3 team in the East?

If anything, they're the first eastern team in many seasons to achieve such feat and the first since the 2015/16 warriors that went undefeated in their first 10 games. They are a young team and i do hope the guys don't get sidelined anymore.
Btw, why haven't you mentioned their updated coaching staff? Because moving on from bickerstaff seems a very good move for them, even tho he's also responsible for getting them to the playoffs since lebron left.

I don't think you can carry a fluke for ten days straight. Looking legit to me.

It's not a fluke. You don't win 10 games in a row on accident.
Teams that's started the season with more than 10 straight wins:
Four teams with 11 (one of them was the 98 Hawks, surprisingly)
Two with 12 (83 Sonics, who only won 48 games. So they only went 36-34 after that.)
Two with 14
16 Warriors with 24

On a side note, they went winless in the preseason too. Which makes this even more awesome i guess.

It's legit in the fact they will be an excellent regular season team.
It's not legit if you think they will beat the Celtics in the playoffs. The warts they have as a team will be exposed against higher level competition playing with playoff intensity.

they look legit but not a contender legit...and they're schedule is mid, not particularly difficult as of yet but not eazy peezy either.
lmk when they start their season playing the lakers, clipplers, and mavericks TWICE like the suns have

I think theyre legit.
legit means you need to be accounted for.
Theyre gonna be a tough out in the postseason I think.

Pretty much this.
However, I will say that if they can maintain the incredible effort and defense they have shown so far, they could be something more.
For now, I think they will skid once someone gets hurt...and someone will. Mobley or Garland IMO.

Perfect timing for this thread. 25 point turn around and they're down 10 to the Nets at home.

I have no idea I haven't watched any of the games but you need to wait 20-30 games into a season before properly assessing where a team is likely to be at the end of the season barring injuries. This has always been true.
10-0 is super impressive but just wait for 30 games in.
