Default Would a team with 10 Steph Curries be a strong contender?

    Coach: Kerr

    PG Curry
    SG Curry
    SF Curry
    PF Curry
    C Curry

    Bench:

    Curry
    Curry
    Curry
    Curry
    Curry

    Will they cook the competition?

No, he's way too small for that to work. You need a guy who's at least like 6'6-6'7 for this to be feasible, preferably taller.

I remember this idea being brought up in 2006 here.

The consensus back then was a team full of Garnetts was the ideal player.

Nowadays.... You would have to say Lebron quite easily.

Kerr loves small ball so he would go with it. Oftentimes, the tallest player on the court for the Warriors is 6'7" Draymond Green.

But you see the Warriors sometimes get trounced with small ball; giving up too many 2nd chance baskets (this happened in a recent game, i commented on it here, but forgot the details), offensive rebounds, etc.

And that's with a guy 6'7" on the court. When you go all 6'3" without the same brawn as a guy like Draymond, it can't work. If you watch the Warriors, they depend on a few tough dudes to constantly screen for their shooters. That's why they're such a good team, and get high quality uncontested shots off. Draymond is a huge part of it; but so is Looney and Trace-Jackson Davis.

10 Currry's couldn't create the separation that a few big guys could.

They also couldn't defend Giannis, Embiid, Jokic; while many struggle anyhow- they would score 50+ a game.

They would make the playoffs and give us the first 200 point game but over the course of a playoff series someone would bust out a big guard+athletic forward line up that hustles hard with the correct scheme to challenge the threes competently while getting baskets in the paint every time. The And 1s would pile up giving that team a healthy number of three-point plays and they could shoot 80% or some crazy number in the paint and offensive rebound the few missed shots. Even with the Curries hitting half of their threes the math would work against them.

People are jumping to say no....but who's going to find five people to guard five Currys at a time? They'd be defensively weak of course, but while someone like Anthony Davis is scoring 2 points every possession, they'd be scoring an average of at least 2.5 points per possession. They be a strong contender at a minimum.

For Currys to score 2.5 ppp his ts would have to be like 1.25.....

It's not happening. Teams have an average of 100 possessions a game and so they aren't scoring 250 points per game. Nice try though.

That team would perform very well in the rs. But it's hard to see them thrive in crucial playoff moments.

This is a ridiculous hypothetical which you're trying to fit into a standard pattern. Out of the five Currys, one or more of them is always going to have the hot hand. Furthermore, Curry runs more than just about anyone during a game. Five of them would completely wear down every other team trying to guard. So yes, scoring 250 points per game is ridiculous, but so is having 10 Currys on a team lol.

I was thinking of this as well. What if their threes don't hit so much at all? In that case, the small guards have to shoot inside or near the basket but it's going to be a bit of a challenge when there are taller opposing players surrounding them.

Because taller players have so much success guarding Curry....

They would be turning any decent big into Prime Shaq because of the obvious lack of defense and size..

There are quick, athletic wings that can challenge him with length. No one is going to shit him down but with the terrible post defense his side would be playing that level of defensive success wouldn't be required. Just keep his side under 160.
