Default You have to build the top defense using one of these previous duos to keep your job.

You’re the GM. The owner grew up a fan of the bad boys and believes defense first is the only respectable approach. Let’s see you’re in a league with all of these duos available and you have the draft capital and players to acquire one of them. You’re building this team from scratch and these duos are the only thing you can be sure you will have. You don’t even know who is going to coach yet.

The owner wants you to go get one of these pairs and figure the rest out from there. At the end of the regular season, the team must have either the #1 team defensive rating, lead the league in opponent field goal percentage, or lead the league in opponents PPG but he only accepts that one if you are top 20 or better in pace.

You get 250K for one seasons work.

You can’t pull off at least one of those three options you’re fired. Complete 2 for a 5 year extension at a million a year. Get all three he signs you for 10 years at 10 million per season.

All players will be healthy and play 82 games at the peak of their career defensive ability(even if that wasn’t when they played together).

    Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday
    Jordan and Pippen
    Jimmy Butler and Bam
    David Robinson and Dennis Rodman
    Tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen
    Tony Allen and Marc Gasol

you don’t even have to worry about winning. If you come in third in defense, but win the title you still get fired.

Who are you trading for to satisfy this idiot with a defense fetish?

I think the only correct answer is Jordan and Pippen. Jordan ensure your team has offense and excitement no matter who you put around him. And then you put together as great a defensive team as you can. With the other...you'll need more offensive pieces and that takes away from defense.

I would do Jordan and Pippen. Relating to the topic, they would give the best perimeter defense so even though Jokic or Giannis could have big nights most teams are about getting a crap ton of threes and have good or great scoring wings so those two would do the best job on the perimeter and we're just worried about averages.

The premise appears to have been ONLY defense taken into consideration.

Id take DRob and DRod. Plenty of paint protection but also guys mobile enough to switch around the perimeter when needed.

I can understand Pippen and MJ in terms of defending today's league but the problem is MJ will likely get punch in the face by Chris Childs and he dont have a son as good as Bronny.
