robin thicke's last cd-- something else

maybe has one or two tracks that are not all that great-- but the rest of the songs are VERY good

does thicke get points deducted because he is white?

Nope, he actually gets more points. No offense to Alan Thicke's kid, but it's a shame when a white guy has more soul than anyone in the current RnB field (mainstream Rnb that is.)

seems like back in the day when the technology wasnt as advanced, guys like teddy p, barry w, marvin, phillip bailey, jeffrey osborne, old school lionel richie, al green relied on their talent and developed it

now, you got technology tidying up guys voices and when they try to sing live, their abilities (or lack thereof) are really exposed

I love R&B soul and funk and jazz

    Albums I recommend on getting...

Al Green, Call Me (Al Green's best album overall and vocally)
    Curtis Mayfield, Superfly
Sam Cooke, Portrait of a Legend 1951-1964
Miles Davis, Kind of Blue (the greatest jazz album, period!)
Van Morrison, Astral Weeks (greatest blue-eyed soul album)

I have so many to name...

    Kanye West - Original Samples

A really great collection of awesome mostly soul, funk and jazz. All songs that Kanye West sampled as a producer.
