Re: OFFICIAL: TRADE/Aquisitions THREAD
Artest would be MAJOR! your talking defense, toughness, and another offensive option. 3 things that Lakers lacked during the finals. solidify the bench and your looking at a stronger contending team.

I actually like the Idea of Marion here better.
Odom reunites with pat riley who loved Odom, we get a quicker defender who can contest other SF's shots.
Marion rebounds just as good as odom and is A much better jumpshooter.
Teams like SA and BOS wont ever dare to leave him open like they did with Odom.

exactly if you're going to move odom you move him for a player that you know will add depth to the roster..
you don't trade a multi purpose player like odom for a one trick pony like artest...

You're wrong about leaving Marion opened. SA left him opened when he was on the Suns and dude was brutal, they dared him to do something on his own and he was horrible..Suns fans wanted his head at the time.
That said, although I'm a huge Odom fan, I would do Marion for LO too. I'd love to see Odom stay a Laker forever and help us get that title but with Bynum back, Odom isnt a very good fit right now. Marion adds a nice dimension to this team..rebounds just as well as Odom but is also one of the most versatile defenders, big time hustler, gets after it and yes can knock down the long range three pointer better.
And gts is 100% right on Artest. Not worth the risk, not for Odom.
I heard a rumor about Ariza not being here next year because Phil is content on staying with Walton..take it for what its worth but if true, big mistake.

i think we should all let the dust settle before people over react on changing the dynamics of this team... personally, i look forward to hearing some comments from Lakers management after they have their exit interviews, likely next week.

Nets have lacked a legit big man since Kmart left town and I think with Odoms size and skillset, he would do well with VC and Harris. Esp. in the east.
Jefferson helps us out because he is a decent defender, good all around scorer, and a nautral small forward. He has the ability to pass and is not a bad rebounder for his size
Still think Marion is best fit though
HOW ABOUT LAMAR ODOM AND MIHM FOR GILBERT ARENAS AND ETAN THOMAS?

Wow sizzle,
I just cant believe Phil is so stubborn to where he plays favorites if that rumor of ariza is true.
Ariza has proven his worth in purple and gold and quickly made fans eager to watch this guy at work. Ariza and Turiad together is a strictly defensive, but uptempo lineup.

I love turiaf, one of my favorite players, but he is a tweener, he is like 2 inches shorter than lamar odom when they stand next to eachother

well said. Once Bynum comes back and gets some more experience, its only going to the help the lakers

Re: OFFICIAL: TRADE/Aquisitions THREAD
one concern i have with trading odom, is that he is the lakers point forward in the triangle offense. marion never had the duty of running an offense. I know Kobe could run it but he cant be doing everything.
