Kevin Garnett has grown to 6'11.75"
From an October 7th, 1996 St. Paul Pioneer Press article.
``Kevin did a lot of lifting in the summer. His ability helps him compensate for the weight.'' Garnett grew slightly from 6-11 to ``6-11 and three-quarters,'' as Garnett puts it.

Jeez, what was his running vert and highest touch? That highest touch is just assuming he did it from a standing start.

Re: Real NBA Height
Here are some of the older legends barefoot heights
Wilt Chamberlain 7'1 1/16" in his prime.
http://espn.go.com/classic/biography...lain_wilt.html
"Wilt Chamberlain was always bigger than life, a mythic-like giant. At 7-foot-1 1/16, he was the most dominating offensive big man in basketball history."
Wilt measured 7'0 1/2" and weighed 327 pounds..he was already close to 50 though so he had shrunk about half an inch from the 7'1 1/16" he was in his prime.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar measured 7'1 5/8" without shoes in his rookie season season with the Bucks in 1969. Bill Russell was 6'9 1/2" in his prime.
Bill Walton is 6'11".
When the NBA held its annual pre-draft camp in Chicago earlier this month, even the studliest prospects got the raw-recruit treatment. "They pinch and poke and prod you," says out-to-pasture studhorse Bill Walton, who has long insisted that he's an honest 6-foot-11. "Then they put the calipers on you. It's like submitting yourself to one of the Big Five accounting firms."
Some barefoot heights from the Olympics
1992 Olympics
Charles Barkley 6'4 5/8"
Magic Johnson 6'7"
John Stockton 6'0"
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/ins.../20/hoop_life/
"If they aren't smoked out at the pre-draft camp, padded heights get exposed at USA Basketball team trials. It was in the run-up to the 1992 Olympics that the world finally learned what the cognoscenti had long suspected -- that Charles Barkley was more like 6-4 5/8 than 6-6, and Magic Johnson closer to 6-7 than 6-9. Likewise, it was a measurement in 1988 before the Games (citius, altius -- but not unduly altius) that exposed Danny Manning, who had been a 6-11 freshman at Kansas, as a 6-9 NBA draftee-to-be."
1988 Olympics
One useful feature of the trials is that players are measured and weighed, rather than listed at their media-guide sizes, which are usually inflated. Thus, David Robinson, heretofore listed at 7-1, 235, is down to 7-0, 226. Danny Manning, once listed at 6-11, is now 6-9. Georgetown recruit [Alonzo Mourning], once 6-11 or 6-10 at Indian River High in Chesapeake, Va., is down to 6-9, 230
David Robinson 7'0"
Mitch Richmond 6'4"
Dan Majerle 6'5"
Danny Manning 6'9"
Alonzo Mourning 6'9"

Former Cavs star center Brad Daugherty is 6'11 3/4" according to that Sports Illustrated article
"North Carolina had a parade of not-quite-7-footers, including Brad Daugherty (6-11 3/4 in the press guide) and Warren Martin (officially 6-11 1/2), until Matt Wenstrom matriculated at Chapel Hill in 1993 at 7-1. Why didn't Dean Smith round up for all those years? According to one pale-blue source, the Tar Heels coach long feared that a listing at 7-foot carried with it the pressure of outsized expectations. With Wenstrom he apparently had a change of heart, and Smith went on to list Kevin Salvadori, Eric Montross and Serge Zwikker as 7-footers."
Sports Illustrated claimed Jordan was 6'6.5"
Jordan, who is 6' 6 1/2", 201 pounds, emerged last season -- only his second on the varsity -- as merely the finest all-around amateur player in the world. "There is one phenomenon in college ball," says Tom Newell, a scout for the Golden State Warriors and the radio color man for the University of Virginia, "and his name is Michael Jordan."

Michael was listed 6'5" and only 190 pounds in 1982 at 19 years old

I'm sorry I have no idea what his running vertical was. The old pre-draft stuff is hard to find. Running vertical isn't as important for a traditional back to the basket center like Shaq

Re: Real NBA Height
Andrew Bynum is going to be a beast. he measured 7'0 1/4" without shoes in 2005 at 17 years and old and has said he has grown a 3/4 inch since.
[QUOTE]Bynum was quite possibly the biggest snub for the physicals at the Chicago Pre-Draft Camp, but has really put up some impressive numbers for a player of his size in his private workouts. “I measured out at 7’0

Re: Real NBA Height
I heard Bynum's max in his rookie season was only 135, which is really bad for a player his size. And then his second season, he raised it to 250... Which is better, but still pretty bad for an NBA center. I heard it from one of Ralph Lawler's conversations with Mike Smith during a Clipper/Laker game. Ralph and Mike rarely exsagerate.

Re: Real NBA Height
I have always wished the NBA would have a seasonal weigh/ measure in and not let the players bs on it. I would like an authoritative statement on all of em, height (no shoes), wing span, weight...it might get too far, but body fat would be interesting too.
