Forget the fact that actively trying to lose would require shutting players down at some point and parting with some valuable pieces or that the strategy would be accompanied by the risk of creating a losing culture.
They are 4 games out of being the worst team in the league with Gobert and Johnson still out and the toughest part of the schedule looming. They don't have to sit anyone. The roster is a mess. Keep doing what they are doing and they will be right there with the worst teams. They aren't parting with Rudy or Mitchell. Everyone else is expendable. If they don't fit around the big two they need to go. If they are old or not appreciated here they probably need to go depending on the return. They might actually get better by trading your so called valuable pieces. At least get people that fit even if they are younger. It's hard to watch this dumpster fire. Losing with young guys that fit what they are doing I could handle a lot more

Rubio's body language stinks at the moment. Doesn't look like he wants to be in Utah at all.

Hard to blame him. They've got him playing off the ball and spotting up like he is a shooter. Made no sense to acquire a guy that doesn't fit what Snyder wants to do. He needs the ball in his hands and he needs to be surrounded by shooters. They have tried to make him someone he is not. They've done the same with Favors. They've done it with Hood. Look how they are doing now in the roles they are built for. Everyone wants Ingles to be something he's not too.

Amazing how different they look when they move the ball though and than Hood comes in and that all stops suddenly!

Hood was super frustrating running the P&R with Favors at times tonight. Just kept trying to get under the D, hit the free throw line and just stop, get double teamed and then reset and waste 16 seconds of the shot clock.

Mitchell didn't shoot well again but had some exciting plays (inbound dunk and the other spin move be ended up missing), but at least he seemed to put the shot away at half time and work on putting effort on D and moving the ball. Burks started looking better attacking the basket too.

Mitchell is great. He plays with a ton of energy. He is all over the place. The sky is the limit for him. Not sure even who to compare him with. Westbrook with an IQ? That's another thing with Hood. If his shot isn't falling he doesn't do much else like Donovan.

Seems like they want to turn Burks into something he isn't too. Getting to the rim is his game. Let him play it. Everyone doesn't have to spot up for 3's all the time.

One of the Jazz's biggest weaknesses is their lack of quickness. Other than Donovan Mitchell, none of their players are reliably speedier than their opponents.
    Burks?

Was it the Bulls being really bad, or was it the Jazz playing well?
I think it was both. If the Jazz move the ball they look good on offense. Defense has been the problem and the Bulls couldn't do anything. Against a better team maybe they lose though?

facing a pretty good rim protection defense in Utah
That great rim protecting team that kept SImmons from going to the rim at will?

According to Jerebko, that matchup also was the first time Jerebko has faced a fellow Scandinavian in the NBA. That's fun.
Don't think there's been any others!

Jonas Jerebko's good play on both ends
He's a player. Him and Sefolosha. Udoh is too one dimensional and Rubio sucks!

That vision matters and also impacts the position Mitchell can play in years to come. If he can be a capable point guard, the ball can be in his hands far more frequently.
Don't think there is much question he is the future at pg. They want his length there and they want the ball in his hands if they are smart. I guess if Exum ever proves he an play that could change but I see Exum more as a 3 and D if he's lucky

It remains an open question as to whether the offense can create quality shot attempts against more talented or more energetic competition.
With just Favors they can. Can they defend a good offensive team without Rudy and the answer is no

But given the challenging start to the season, which saw Utah again suffer major injuries to Dante Exum and Rudy Gobert
Can we go just one day without mentioning Dante?

[QUOTE]Hood scored a solid 19 points but required 17 shots to do so, including making 3 of 9 from three. He added 4 rebounds and an assist and a steal. It was a fairly nondescript game in many ways for Hood, which is noteworthy for that very reason. For a player who has often been scorching hot or frigid with his shot but rarely in between, a so-so night where he contributed to a blowout win is a positive. Given Hood

Jonas Jerebko deserves to keep some of these minutes after Rudy Gobert comes back. The man just makes plays.
Udoh to the bench at least until Favors and Johnson are traded away. I might look to trade Udoh too though

If Rodney were actually coached to only take his good shots he could be borderline Allstar and not become CJ Miles 2.0.
He's no CJ unfortunately. And he's no all-star under any circumstance

Jerebko will be better than Favors playing with Gobert.
So would Sefolosha and Ingles and Bolomboy and myabe Johnson if he's got any gas left in the tank!

Favors will be better as a backup to Rudy or needs to be traded.
Can't see any scenario where Favors is on the team at the all-star break. But with the clown running the show who knows. If he is you got to move him to the back-up spot after that

It is still not clear that Rubio is a fit for this team.
it's clear that he isn't I think Quin even knows it. He likes Neto more and he doesn't like Neto!

After starting the season as one of the hottest teams in the stacked Western Conference, the last few weeks have gone the exact opposite way for the new-look Jazz.

    The main reason? Injuries.

The team is without a few key pieces early on in the year after seeing Rudy Gobert go down with a right knee injury that will keep him out a total of 4-6 weeks, as well as Joe Johnson suffering tendon instability in his right wrist that will keep him sidelined until the end of November. Dante Exum is also out with a shoulder injury without a timetable for return.
The main reason is the roster. They sucked before Rudy went down and Johnson was sucking and Exum has done nothing but suck

is it time for the Jazz to make a trade to try and shake things up to save their season before their key players return from injury?
make trades not just one but it will never happen. Favors and Rubio need to go for sure

The Utah Jazz have a decision to make with Derrick Favors this season.

Entering the final year of his contract with the Jazz, making $12 million this year, Utah has three decisions they can make with the 26-year-old forward.

The first option is to sign the eight-year big man to an extension, which is starting to seem like more of an unlikely option due to the team signing Rudy Gobert to a $100 million extension last season and having to make a decision on what they want to do with Rodney Hood and Ricky Rubio in the next year or so.
First I've hear of the extension yet this year. I think it could make him a lot more valuable. If he agrees to sign an extension with a team they can get more return I'd think. The wizard needs to be fired if Favors is re-signed. I can't imagine Favors would come back to Utah under any circumstance either. Get rid of Rubio. Trade Hood. Easy decisions. Next

The third option is to field trade calls for Favors
It's the only option. Hard to imagine they aren't talking to teams now about him

ultimately the team decided to not trade away Favors
got to think he would have ben gone last year if healthy but again we're talking about the clown

[QUOTE]At 36 years old, Johnson can still provide a lot to an NBA team in his 17th season in the league. If Utah isn

This is a great tribute to the offensive system Quin is running and how he is finding ways for guys to get good looks.
certainly not a tribute to the clown that put together this roster

Ricky Rubio took 10 shots tonight. This is more in the realm of where he can be successful.
He's never going to be successful playing off the ball and spotting up. What's the point in that?

I love that Rodney Hood is able to get nine 3-point shots off. If he can add a few more free throw attempts to those nine attempts from 3, he will be become an efficient, bona fide offensive force.
Too bad he is soft and hates contact

Donovan Mitchell went 1 for 10 and looked exhausted.
He played harder than anyone on the floor if he was exhausted!

As Quin Snyder said, they may only be favored once in all of December.
love when the excuses come in advance!
