It’s pretty clear I stopped being a liberal if you’ve been following my posts, but I realize it’s hard for a lot of the subhuman IQs on here to grasp that people can change their views. As for you, I don’t doubt that you voted for Bernie Sanders, but that alone doesn’t make you a leftist. There are plenty of libs who voted for Bernie, and even some conservatives. He has broad appeal, and we obviously can’t have the working class even CONSIDERING uniting in this country. The reason I suspect you aren’t a leftist is because you consistently use right wing terms, talking points and side with the right wingers on here. However I haven’t encountered any leftist who says those things online without irony before. As for the siding with the conservatives, I agree with them on a few issues such as the first and second amendments (and I also agree open borders is a bad idea in our current system as it hurts American workers), but I generally find most of the conservatives on here to be pretty abhorrent people. Hawker and Rufuspaul seem like decent dudes I could have a beer with but the majority sound like angry 4chan trolls. But you’re co-signing msbutthurt’s post when the only group he accurately analyzed was liberals. Saying the (Democratic) party is being taken over by progressives and that antifa are the biggest fascists in the country are delusional right wing talking points. Joe Biden is about as progressive as Mitt Romney. If progressives had hijacked anything he wouldn’t have got cheated into the nomination. Progressives have very little power within the Democratic Party, people like Pelosi have made sure of that.

I would have agreed on this once upon a time... I absolutely hated GW bush and attended protests against his war, but somewhere around 2012 the tide began to change, and around 2016 it became clear that liberals had replaced republicans as the unbearable/abhorrent moralizers

The article I read said what Ilhan is doing is legal. If Trump did the same thing it would still be legal. I used to have TDS, but eventually I realized he’s just a continuation of Bush and Obama. Heck, he’s been better than Obama (Not an accomplishment in reality but given how liberals think Obama is a saint it’s worth pointing out) in terms of staying out of conflicts although what he did in Yemen (refusing to pull out despite Congress approving it) was disgusting. Legality doesn’t mean much, because laws can be wrong, of course, I’m just saying what I read. I was upset with Ilhan for not pushing harder for stimulus checks and letting the establishment bully her, but I agree with most of her and her fellow progressive’s policies, apart from guns, immigration and 15$ minimum wage (far too low, but admittedly better than what we have). It’s unclear to me where the progressives actually stand on free speech, but I’d sadly imagine many of them have decidedly liberal views on that, which I am strongly opposed to.

As for interacting with conservatives versus liberals, both groups are intolerant in different ways. I used to think just the conservatives were, but I was a liberal myself then. However, I am more willing to put up with dumb liberals ranting at me not to say the “r word” or calling me a Trump supporter for voting Green than I am willing to tolerate the “4chan gang” demonizing me for my sexual preferences, ethnic background and religion (I’m an agnostic but I’m culturally Jewish and was bar mitzvahed). While I think liberals are full of shit, their overall ethos is far closer to mine than conservatives. I genuinely believe a large amount of liberals (not politicians or members of the media obviously) can be brought around. I was once I started paying attention to stuff Bernie said, and I know it can happen for other liberals.
