what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
...and what can he do/change going forward to make it better or worse?
let's hope we don't see any A's or F's for the sake of maintaining some semblance of sanity.

This is a little too soon.
In perspective this is the equivalent of grading an NBA team after the first 5 games of the season.
Judging an NFL team after the first game.
Or a baseball team in early April.
Give it a little time.

i don't think there's any harm in it. i hear your point about any policy not having it's due time to show effect but there's other reasonable ways to grade the administration.
to be fair i'll create another thread at the one year mark to better assess actual results.

Re: what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
I always found the fixation about 100 days so bizarre. It's a completely arbitrary timeline, the media obsesses about it but makes no mention of other milestones like the first 6 months. Hell even the first year gets a fraction of the coverage the slightly more than first 3 months does.

Re: what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
alright i'll set the tone then, a quick rundown...
foreign policy: D+
promised to end the ukraine war on day one - didn't deliver. i know trump apologists will say 'he wasn't serious or how can you set such unrealistic expectations' but the war is over with a simple phone to zelensky signifying that we're out - that we're cutting financial snd military aid completely and absolutely and bringing home all of our troops uniformed or otherwise. let the europeans hold the bag on this because this wasn't trump's war to begin with and if he really doesn't want it, be over and done with it. the eventual outcome is inevitably russia's victory. otoh, everything from the past three months has at least been a step in the right direction and is a far cry from what a kamala or biden term would have looked like.
israel. similar to any other past president - a slave to the lobby. hasn't shown himself to be anything other than netanyahu and mariam adelson's lapdog and furthermore pledged to buy gaza, 'clean it up' it with our $ and troops and ethnically cleanse the region at the behest of the zionist movement. nope, not our problem. clean up your own mess. handle your own problems. our $ is better spent at home. fund the iron dome and that's the extent of our support.
otoh, hasn't taken us to war with iran yet and has resisted the lobby in that regard. let's hope for the best. america first? we'll see.
economy/tariffs: C
i don't support blanketed tariffs. so far they've only been used as a leveraging/bullying tactic against weaker economies that have no choice other than to fold for what i would assume only to be mediocre 'wins'. tariffs as they're laid out now were not a part of the campaign. voters didn't put trump in office for another inflation.
a few posters have told me to be optimistic, which goes against my nature, but i'm willing to be open minded. if the trump admin narrows down and targets the tariffs in an intelligent way to bring back specific manufacturing industries that benefit our workforce i would absolutely get behind them. so my grade on this can go either up or down.
immigration: B+
this is trump's bread and butter. aside from going too hastily and aggressively and mistakes being made i support the effort. no real complaints but admit your mistakes and fix them.
administration competence, cohesion and staff choices: B.
way more competent and much better cohesion than the first go-around. needs to get rid of the neocons in his ear giving him bad advice though. steve witcoff deserves a nobel peace prize for the peace efforts he's undertaking in both ukraine and the ME.
wokeness, dei and ladyboys in women's sports: A+ no brainer.
epstein files: F. campaign promise broke. what are we waiting for?

Re: what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
F, although I would give that to anyone that was allowed to become President.
If you want specific reasons:
1. Bombing the shit out of Yemen
2. Continuing to facilitate a genocide in Palestine (Biden started it but he's continuing it)
3. ****ing up the economy with his retarded tariffs
4. ****ing with environmental protections/climate stuff
5. Ending birthright citizenship
6. ****ing with stuff in terms of public health
7. end of USAID and various other stuff that helps the less fortunate
8. Trying to get rid of the department of education and privatize schools
9. Deportations of immigrants and weaponizing ICE further. Even if you don't agree with me on open borders, you can realize him deporting people without due process is bad as is the fact that he's sending them to a concentration camp.
10. Detaining and violence against protestors.
There's way more obviously, but you get it. He's also been threatening to do way worse than just the stuff mentioned, and I take him seriously when he makes threats even if other people don't.

Re: what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
“I think the good parts are the Trump economy and the bad parts are the Biden economy because he’s done a terrible job,” Trump said. “He did a terrible job on everything.”
That is our commander in chief, and since I am part of the cult, I have no choice but to agree with him on everything. I don't know what reality I'm living in

Re: what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
F
He has failed to deliver on multiple campaign promises despite delivering and semi delivering on some.
His ignorance about how tariffs work has dampened trade and damaged relationships with other countries for no reason.
China hasn't been "ripping us off" for decades.
We outsourced our labor to them because of greed, numbnuts.
The fact that we have a deficit and they have a surplus is not their "fault." They produce more physical goods than we do. Period. We produce ideas and do the mental work, but they do the physical work. We set it up this way. American corporate greed and american consumer greed (read: us - aka you, you the person reading this) did this. The people of the United States voting with their wallets for cheap Chinese goods did this.
The only reason he doesn't get an F- is because he has cracked down on illegal immigrants somewhat and is putting up with far less shit than before.
But he also fails to realize that the reason Western leaders are ignorantly allowing and pushing for mass illegal immigration is because without it there will be a massive population decline and a failure of our longstanding economic models, as the debt based system is heavily dependent on growth. Well whatever, the US is a further and further failed state as caucasian population declines. None of this matters anyways.

The economy is an easy 'F'. You don't just throw tariffs around 0-100, they have to be done marginally in a large scale economy. Throw in a 10-15% tariff, and see if it has any correlation with manufacturing, raise the tariff accordingly etc. We also need to actually build the infrastructure for the manufacturing first, last thing you want is a 60% shortage in steel and be 5 years away from building enough mills to satisfy even 20% of that. This is literally Macro 101 shit. Tariffs also trickle up and hurt value added industries like AI, finance, chip manufacturing etc. which is beyond retarded amidst the AI race, which is going to be the most important industrial revolution of our lifetimes. US vc's are all bracing for a recession while loss mitigation hf's are dancing to the pina colada song while doing lines off coke off of hookers in celebration.
And I haven't even touched on the actual stock market yet.

A
- Secured the border
- Doge has been a huge success
- Minerals deal with Ukraine
Economy hasn't been disastrous even with tariffs despite what many people say. Stock market has bounced back and the job report in April was in the positive. Prices in general have fallen since he replaced Biden.

I would give him an A+, but I feel like it would be an underappreciation for what he's accomplished.

Plus he's brought home at least 26 American hostages that were being held captive in various countries.

Re: what grade do you give trump for his first hundred days and why?
Too early to grade but he's helping the good guys win the culture war and that's the main thing. I'm confident that his policies will help build a strong economy like he did his first term. Its early still.
