I'm not a fan of AI. It's getting the point where people can't easily tell what they're seeing is real or not real or not. It's going to be a disaster. Hell, even just ten to fifteen years ago old people were falling for shitty Photoshops on Facebook thinking the most outrageous things were real. It's going to get to the point where AI is going to greatly influence people's beliefs about groups, politics, religion and other parts of the world because of an AI slop lie.

A large group of people will no longer legitimately challenge themselves. I know someone who turns into college schoolwork with a 3.8 GPA and most of the work they turn in is just done through AI.

You think this is scary? Just wait until to removes all of our jobs. White collar jobs will go first. Anything math oriented is doomed. Any accountants in here? Anyone that does taxes? Better look for a new profession. Programmers, the tech industry in general, those jobs will be phased out by AI. Blue collar jobs will be safe for a while. AI can easily replace the doctor who diagnoses, but not the surgeon who does the repairs. But robotics will catch up to them eventually also.

I've watched it probably dozens of times and one scene that always gets me is when the Terminator is talking to John while fixing a truck and they both see two kids shooting at each other with toy guns screaming each other and John says, "We're not going to make it are we?...people I mean." and the Terminator turns from John and looks at the two kids and says, "It's in your nature to destroy yourselves."

...it always hits me probably because I think deep down it's true. People destroy their own humanity every day over nothing. And it just keeps building and building and building until we're going to have nothing left.

The meaning behind that scene for me is just that technology will always doom any intelligent species. Perhaps this universe was designed with that in mind. I mean, technology will eventually reach a point where the average Joe can just print up a nuclear bomb at home. And when it gets to that? What are our odds?

It feels like the atom was designed in a way to prevent intelligent life from getting too far.

Imagine having open heart sugery and the Surgeon got through school with A.I doing all of his work

Imagine People being framed with crimes or a serial killer getting off scott free because he has an video tape (A.I) of him being somewhere else

Imagine politics where people can make A.I videos pushing their narrative or making one group look bad.

That's one of the solutions to the Fermi Paradox, that civilizations get to a point where they create technology that eventually leads to their extinction. That there are countless remnants of extinct civilizations all over the universe but we still don't have the technology to detect them and that we're on that path ourselves. Glad I don't smoke weed anymore or I'd get more bummed out thinking about that lol

I don't think the automated trucks happen unless they end up using a whole different transportation system. If they're just going to use regular paved roads I don't think it works. Tesla hasn't released Full Self Driving (FSD) that's yet because the roads are so inconsistent and at random times the Tesla vehicles won't take certain exits, or merge properly in lanes and still need human intervention otherwise they crash or cause a major accident.

So I don't think fully self driving delivery trucks happen 100% without a person unless roads markers, signs, etc get paved more consistently or they make their own system somehow.

I do think a large part of the blue collar sector gets replaced. And the gap between the poor and rich widens.
