Thumbs up Wemby with the Giannis move in the Spurs scrimmage game today!

Goddamn. I think he's 240-245 right now. I think he has 255-260 prime weight in him without losing mobility.

He's the most perfectly formed specimen for modern basketball possible. If you created a video game character to dominate, this would be the end result.

He doesnt need extra bulk anymore than KD did. If he doesnt get hurt and doesnt lose his mind, top 10 all-time. No question.

Wrong. The added strength, power, and weight are why he could pull off a power move like that. Wemby won't reach his physical peak until 24 at the earliest.

KD added nearly 30 lbs - 215 (rookie) to 242 (2014-15). Wemby was 230 (rookie), is 240-245 now, and will reach 250-260 in due time. He needs to be able to not get pushed off his spot and absorb contact. That comes with strength and conditioning.

I'm talking about his current weight.

Anyone who thinks that wasn't an offensive foul has no concept of basketball. You might as well just let players start running with the ball and violently punching each other in the face repeatedly during live play.

It hasn’t regularly been called that way since the 70s.

Bullshit. He literally lowered his shoulder, rammed into his defender, and shoved his defender away.

Some people get away with it sometimes but is absolutely an offensive foul even in 2025.

And after they stopped calling it in the 70s people have been getting away with moving non set defenders that way. My uncle used to bitch about it already in the 80s. By the time Shaq came along it wasn’t even looked twice at.

Ok, but if the defender decides to fall down it's getting called. Just because a guy is being honest in his ability to stay on his feet and it's way less likely to be called as a result doesn't mean it isn't a foul. It is still called it's just not consistent whatsoever and yes people like Shaq and LeBron have gotten away with that kind of shit for years. I mean they took a beating that didn't get called also, but I digress.

If this was as as permissible and pervasive as you claim and not having been called "since the 70s" then every player would do this on every play until their defenders always fell at which point they could bait people into falling without getting touched also.

Not everyone can. Those who can…tend to. Zion. Giannis. Shaq. Barkley did it. Larry Johnson. Some of the stronger guards. Hell Harold Minor used to do it. Wade did some of that. Lebron who you mentioned. You get that shoulder into your man while he’s backing up and just force him under the basket. Webber used to do it on the break. Dwight.

Its been common as hell for a long time.

You don’t tend to get that call against a star when both of you are moving.

And yes being a flopping ho will discourage it. It’s one reason Giannis said “I hate that pussssy” of Marcus Smart. You can get the call if you really want it.

The key is the elevation & extension of the off-arm. They'll be more likely to call it an offensive foul if you either a) raise the arm above 90 degrees, b) fully extend the arm/elbow, or c) both. The smart offenders keep the arm somewhat bent and below 90. Shai is really good at it; he does it on almost every half-court possession.

I re-watched this clip again and he also carries the shit out of the ball. Like I said, why not just allow players to run with it and punch each other? What else is the next step if not that?

    I rest my case.
