Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. The fact is they were at war. If you really want to play that game you can point the finger at every country and every people throughout history. Did the U.S. overstep when they nuked Japan? You aren't obligated to go easy on your opponent during wartime. Ideally you want to target just their military operations, but that becomes kind of difficult when Hamas uses civilian facilities for their military operations.

As an american living in 2025, knowing full well the history of our country, it's kind of ridiculous for any one person to be asking this question. I love my country but I also know we have a lot of blood on our hands. That is the reality. People can either accept that or don't. If it bothers them that much, they can go out and protest with the pink haired weirdos. If not then stfu and stop virtue signaling.

We are the same in many ways, both America and Israel as well as christians and jews. That's why it's so hypocritical for people to rail on just Israel over this, because they aren't rare or unique in the slightest.

ww2 was no war of choice. i was speaking within the context of recent decades, not recent history. a few examples that stand out:

we gave russia our word after the cold war that we wouldn't encroach nato any further eastward - we did and now look where we are.

we lied to ghadaffi.

we recently bombed iran in the middle of diplomatic relations.

our ally israel bombed peace negotiators in our other ally, qatar.

we're in the middle of coercing regime change in venezuela.

it can be debated on whether or not these operations were/are justified but my point is that the lessons we're imparting to the world through our actions is that the only thing that we respect is the use of force. we aren't approachable. you cannot conduct normal diplomatic relations with the united states.
