the trick to staying sober is to go about 18 months without taking a drink.

if you can go a year or two... your brain will be rewired... so you can easily go 10 years.

After 10 years have passed, some bull$hit trauma in life will probably happen, at which point you'll decide to drink.


but, you'll quickly realize that your body is too old to be drinking.

Most people that struggle with alcohol sober up in their 30's for that reason alone.

This is an example of a single mid-life crisis man trying to break free from the Matrix.


Couple of errors in his philosophy of life:


1. Service and Self Improvement go hand in hand. You can Self Improve and seek personal happiness and wind up with a net zero if you haven't served/helped others. What you need is a vacation, not to be "done".... Service is the entire point of Self Improvement. You don't self improve so you can serve yourself, you self improve so you can serve others less fortunate.

2. If you want to live the life of a minimalist (which I agree with that philosophy)... Your kids have to be grown and self sufficient. If you're not gonna keep up with the Jones's in a material sense, you need to become a fitness freak. My philosophy in the State of Texas.... you need a nice dependable ride, your house is not that important. Transportation and traveling > becoming a home body. Your ride needs to be your home in a sense.

3. If you've had a satisfying life, been there done that, That's called being spoiled.... So if you do have fulfillment, Focus on others obtaining the same fulfillment you have. Grandparents role is to spoil the grandchildren.

4. Children are more important than you. Children are the future... You have to become a provider, and sadly here in the USA, money makes the world go round.

absolute shit. private equity is buying up everything, they're fast tracking everything to make late stage capitalism arrive quicker. your kids aren't going to be able to afford a home, will have a difficult time finding a job, and won't know what the American dream once was. that's best case scenario btw, we don't know what new war will be waged.
