Did you see when the knicks tried a starbury/francis backcourt this year, with franchise at 2? The defense that followed was the most pitiful thing i've ever seen. They were both getting abused on the regular by whatever 2-guard the other team was using. I think the lineup usually lasted a total of 20 seconds or so before one of them was pulled.

for francis to be a 2 gaud he needs a hughes or Snow type gaurd to play beside him.

He can't gaurd a 2 gaurd. How would this team do

Francis
hughes
Battier
Pau
Big Z

Francis could be the go to guy. Slow paced game all good defenders. And good rebounder.

Francis and Hughes on the same team?

You'll never see so many bricks.

Plus, LH's defense is overrated. Man to man he's average.

read Larry Hughes
Most ppl think Hughes is a good ball defender.
Hughes is a slasher and with this team he would be able to slash.

He's a slasher but more importantly he's a bricklayer. His man defense is average, maybe slightly above, but its his playing the passing lanes/help D that are above average. He cannot guard good shooting guards, and neither can Francis. Both of them are slashers without consistent jumpshots. I think it would be a disaster.

Playing Francis at shooting guard would require some kind of conversion?

Haha yeah i'll admit francis can't guard most shooting guards in the league. I mean hell if im not mistaken then like 2 or 3 of Iverson's top 5 scoring games have been against Francis. Like someone said earlier he has to be paired with an oversized point if he's gonna be put at the 2.
