Default Smart Decision?

I am thinking of selling my Xbox 360 with a wireless controller, head set etc. and 5 games including GTA 4, Modern Warfare, Hitman, NBA 2K7 and Forza 2 Motorsport.

And I'm thinking of getting PS 3 and GTA 4 for it, and possibly Modern Warfare.
I am just scared that 360 will break again and since I have no warranty, it's a huge gamble. I don't play online that often, in fact hardly ever...I usually just play multi player with friends when they come over to chill.

So do you guys think it's a good idea, does PS 3 have any problems I should know about? I mean hardware wise.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially if you own a PS 3.
