they are all good players and the best player in the league. Mavs are basically the Spurs, version 2.0 with dirk in the duncan role and howard and terry in the parker and ginobli role. the funny thing you'll notice is when Dirk goes out of the game, suddenly terry and howard no longer get the amazing looks they had when he was in the game. Like last game when the 27 point lead quickly went down to 16 when Dirk went out
If the Mavs win the championship, terry is going to need much better stats then Dirk to win the MVP. If they are basically similar to Dirk's, no way you give it to him. Simply because it's Dirk, nothing else to say.
He'd have to really outperform him to get deserve that MVP.
Reading what Walker has to say - without the commentary from the reporter - its not that bad. Every player is important. we all have to do out jobs. No one is a supporting cast, we are basketball players.
Sounds about right to me.
If I'm a coach and I hear a guy say "Hey, I'm just a supporting player", I start getting pretty pissed.
Any successful team is the result of the collection of the right players. and good coaching of course. But it is still possible to have one player that stands out. One that allows the team to be able to run their system. For the coach to use to open up things for the other players. While that player may not be a league mvp, he certainly can be his team's mvp.
