As for my stance i think its completely retarded for people to defend embryo's that aren't going to be born human beings. I'm also not a scientist, but from what i've read many scientists swear stem cell research will lead to many breakthrough's in medicine/science. Its the naysayers that hold us back from finding cures with their moral preachings that have always been garbage. Religion has always been the bane to the development and evolution of science/medicine, and this is no different.

Thats exactly what scientists are researching on NOW. Embryonic stem cells are likely to be phased out.

That being said, I don't really care if they research stem cells or not. People in other countries (and probably ours) are already working on clones.

and disclaimer, even the nonembryo stem cells lead to the same cancer problems...

human cloning, in theory, is the surest way to harvest the necessary organs. Obama just said today he will definitely not go there.

"Over" stem cells? I don't care whether the source material is stem cells or "pluripotent" cells. That's a decision that should be made by a scientist or doctor with whatever is best for the patient in mind. And if that's the pluipotent cell? Fine. 'Though for the record, if the choice is left to me and doesn't make any difference health-wise, give me the stem cells just to annoy the stupid.
