Derrick Brown is very solid for the 2nd round. Great athlete, good size/length. He can give us minutes now b/c his body is ready but still has plenty of upside. He's the anti-Sean May.

"I love this pick for the Bobcats. I think Brown, had he stayed in school another year, would've been a surefire first-round pick. He's an excellent athlete, he can play the 3and the 4 and he still has lots of upside."

Timmeh's draft assessment:

12th pick: Let's be honest. We needed a backup SG, and we got one, albeit not who I really wanted. I was so pissed when New Jersey picked Williams, and in all honesty, at that point, I wanted us to scrap all of our draft plans, trade our picks and try to get someone via free agency. I will give Henderson a chance, but I'm not optimistic.

38th pick: I was getting excited when I saw Blair and Young still on the board, but was pissed when San Antonio took Blair. I was hoping we wouldn't screw up and not pick Brown, so I was satisfied when we did.

Last pick: I was really, really hoping we'd pick another big (Alade Aminu), so we could at least have a 3 way competition with Brown and May for the backup PF spot. I have no idea who the guy was we drafted, some kid from UAB. I'm glad we traded him for cash, so that gives us a breath of cap space.

Now lets go make a ripple in free agency.

What about the rumors that he's possibly headed back to Europe?

i really doubt he would go back to europe he just wants more money probly and i wish we could get him but in reality we wont have a chance

He plays the 3 right? If not he's a greatly undersized 4. Not really our fit though he would be great here.

You're right about the money. I just read on the ISH rumors page that he turnd down a 36Mil 4 year contract extension and is looking for 55Mil.

that is the problem with pro sports all the players care about money basketball was better when jordan and bird and them were around that really cared about the game.
Heck if i was offered 9 mill a year id take that in a heartbeat

Both had enormous contracts back then but showed loyalty to their home teams. In my opinion, disloyal players kill teams entirely. Just wondering, if we didn't re-sign Okafor, we might draft Lopez last year and become better off this year, but anyway, we're fine this year anyway, going 34-40 prior to an abysmal 1-6. However, the "future" is bright.

Henderson won't be a bad player, but we needed to draft a shooting guard who can shoot.

This guy has more of a slasher in-between game and I don't see him complimenting Wallace that well. We need someone to spread the defense.

He's pretty under-sized too but hopefully he's still growing.
