Default Question for Former High School Football Players

What did you guys do in your two-a-days, and how hard was it? A lot of running? Like conditioning stuff? Or was it all about offense and defense? Like, if you aren't a starter, you won't do as much or what? Or did everyone do running drills? Just curious on what happened to you guys in two-a-days.

I didn't play in high school but I did in Jr. High

if YOU played in Jr. High then I would imagine it is very similiar to that...

different days you work on different things...but everyone gets in practice...everyone runs, even the big guys...

the different coaches will spend time teaching things with the different positions, and then at times the offense will play the defense...

some days might be spent in a room looking at play charts...some days might be spent in the weight room lifting...

It might seem intimidating at first, but it's not all that bad. 2 practices in a day isn't that hard.

Yeah. obviously lol.

Like, was there a lot of conditioning shit and a lot of running? (not counting the drills and scrimmages and shit) I'm just talking like straight up gashers, suicides, back and forths, etc.

I remember running 4 miles (think it was 4) with pads on in that humid August weather. Each day. Lot of puking for some people.

Had to do a lot of ladders too which I thought was just a basketball thing. In basketball it's when you have 2 groups and one group lines up on the baseline and runs the length of the court. Then group 2 runs the length of the court. Then group one is back up and runs the length 3 times, then group 2. You do that 1 time, 3 times, 5 times, 7 times, and 9 times except in football it's a football field instead of a court and of course it's not in air conditioning. Hated those.

Then there were drills where we had to run the length of the field a certain amount of times in a certain time but forget what it was. The time was different for linemen.

Damn...........And what happened if someone missed the time? Can't practice? I remember we did conditioning test a couple of weeks ago, one every week, but without pads. If you didn't pass it, you would have to do it again the next day in the early morning, not to mention that turns off your ability to start and get playing time.

What position did you play in HS?

If someone didn't make the time then the whole team would have to repeat it until everyone did it. You did it as a team not individually. And it wasn't a conditioning test it was an everyday thing. I played WR and CB.

Well, I'm guessing your school was competitive, or was a really ***** about conditioning then? I don't know, I would hate to do that. I heard that when two-a-days start we don't do much conditioning or we do, but not a lot. Maybe, i didn't ask him the right question.
