I don't know what happened to the "Trade, Rumors and Thoughts" thread but I think we owe it to ourselves to look at a big man. Ryan Hollins. He's been waived by Clevelad. I think he'd fit in well here. He's tall, athletic and would be a solid backup to Chandler. JJ Hickson woudlnt be a bad signing either. We need a backup sf. I think his lack of production in Sac was more due to an awkward fit. He was a quality player in Cleveland not too long ago. Ironically, he's the reaon Amare isn't a Cavalier. Danny Ferry's dumb ass didnt trade for Stat because he didnt wanna give up Hickson lol How's that working out now?

I think he didnt work out cuz Sacramento has so many guards they have them playing SF. Not much room for playing time at all.
I think the Knicks see Jordan as a down the line kinda guy. I was all for sending him out there to take his lumps but if youre nor gonna commit to developing him right now, dobt play him. Same thing happened with Thabeet. He was a project but they onlt wanted to give him small minutes. Guys like that dont benefit from short spurts of time.
To me, Hollins and Hickson provide immediate upgrades at our weakest positions on the bench. Furthermore, we get to cut a guard who is rotting on the bench. We play too many guards as it is.

2-Trade Lin + amare + fields for Bargnani + Calderon + Kleiza + Amir Johnson
3-sign jeffries + novak + in a perfect world spencer hawes more likley Jason Smith

JR smith
Carmelo/kleiza/Novak
Bargnani/Jason smith
Chandler/jeffries/amir johnson
12 man roster built perfectly around Carmelos strengths, best offensive team ever put together that would play defense well enough to win- and you'd have calderon to play long enough to let Cunningham and shumpert to develop
You could not build a better roster with any realistic (if amare/lin/fields to grab bargnani/calderon/.... Was realistic)

I would like that trade if it didn't lead to a No Defense starting five.
Maybe you could start Shump so he can take care of the opponent Pg/Sg.
On the other hand I think that Bargnani is the perfect piece in our frontcourt.
