Still can be hit with a civil suite or civil rights violations even without that.

Anybody else see this story on George Zimmerman's Lawyers? They apparently have drop him as client because they cant get in contact with him..

his own (former) lawyers are painting a bad picture of this guy. He's starting to sound like a flight risk.

I work in the courts, co I pretty much know what that means when the attorneys can't get in touch with the clients.

The special prosecutor, Florida State Attorney Angela Corey, has alerted the media that she "is preparing to release new information" about her investigation within the next 72 hours. Reporters will be alerted three hours before the news conference, which is to be held in either Sanford or Jacksonville.
Quote:
Corey's office says in its news release that media access will be limited "because of safety concerns."

no reason for there to be 'safety concerns' if she was about to announce he's being charged .. then again it says 'release new information' .. maybe she hasn't made a decision yet ?

That's what I would do. Get out of the country for good. He can go wherever he wants, he hasn't been charged with anything.

He certainly will be if he runs. The smart thing for him to do is to get some good lawyers [with the notoriety I bet he could get a good one pro bono] and let it play out. With how murky it all is [and it's Florida for all you Farkers], he has a good chance of beating any serious charges.

Lol.

Usually it is the other way around. It's the client who can never get in touch with an attorney. This is a rare case where an attorney can't get in touch with their client.

I'm not sure if this attorney was appointed to Zimmerman, or he hand picked the attorney on his own? Anyone know.

Since he hasn't been charged with a crime I would assume he doesn't have a court appointed attorney.

Lawrence O'Donnell has hinted that this might be the reason for today's press conference and it makes sense to me.

The special prosecutor has announced to the press that she is going to hold a press conference within 72 hours. That came out today.

She probably reached out to his lawyers to contact them before going public.

They tried to get in touch with Zimmerman.

Zimmerman stiffs them.

They start thinking that George might be thinking of fleeing.

If they have a client who flees after the prosectuor tips them off that the decision is coming soon, they could be accomplices to a fugitive and lose their law licenses. That's why they hold today's press conference. (They probably email Zimmerman and say we are talking today at 2PM, you need to contact us as a way to pressure him. He stiffs them again)

They tell the world they are dropping him as a client.

Didn't one of the lawyers get a guy off with the "stand your ground" case? The other lawyer isn't court appointed as he didn't even have a murder case background.
