In all fairness MightWhitey, right before his injury, he was playing better than anybody on the court.

So because Van Gundy says it..that makes it true lol You do realize he, and soon to be his brother, don't have a job right? Besides, the "implied facepalm" was moreso intended for your entire rants about how bad Amare is. You really don't want to see him come off the bench. You don't want to see him play at all. Be honest.

JVG is an unbiased basketball expert that calls it as he sees it, and he is right most of the time. He even called Breen out for his bias against Melo, which is something we all should have noticed by now.

Amare under Woodson has been a complete player. I've always though he was overrated because atrocious defense nullified some of his positive attributes (he has the lowest +/- on the team out of our rotation players btw), but now that his pick and roll competence on defense has skyrocketed he has made huge strides. He finally got into a good rhythm on offense too and was our best player for the first few games under Woodson.

I don't think he is bad at all. I just think we need to adjust the rotation to get the most out of our players, to put them in a position to succeed. I also think he is rushing himself back from the injury and I think he will be limited upon his return. I saw what happened in the postseason last year myself.

JVG is an idiot and extremely biased. I notice his little pot shots at the Knicks all the time, not even taking into account his bias against Dwight Howard when he talks about the Magic.

As for Amar'e off the bench.

I like how Amare has played under Woodson.

If only Woodson can make a positive impact during the summer (in case he stays our coach) and transform Amare into a good defensive player. He certainly has physical ability to be one.

On the other hand his injuries are really a problem. This is his second year and he still hasn't been healthy come playoff time. Last year he was able to play only 1 game,in others he was clearly injured and basically useless.
In case we make the playoffs and Amare is able to play it's still questionable how healthy will he be.

And what if Amare playing at 60% disrupts the chemistry of our starting unit and our offense isn't as effective as it is right now?

If he is at 60%, I doubt they would allow him to play. At least for the regular season.

And we are not benching Amar'e so that we can continue to play Melo at the 4 and Fields at the 3. Melo is a career SF, so let's not get too comfortable with him playing PF. It would wear him down in the long run.

If you really want to know who got in Melo's way, it was Landry Fields. He plays the same position as him, and occupies the same space.

Marc Berman ‏ @NYPost_Berman
Amar'e won't play Sunday vs. Miami but if no setback, Stoudemire's first game back may be next week in Newark vs. Nets

Bring him back when he's ready/ Don't rush it! Has Mike Antoni not taught us anything?

Even if he is cleared to play, just let him play the last three games of the season. Let him slowly get into form just in time for the playoffs.
