Lights out in Laker Land: After landing Dwight Howard, Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss started their well-deserved respective vacations today

Now it will truly be an "off" season for them. They deserve their well-earned vacations. For a long time too. Our starters are pretty much set in for at least 2 years if Dwight stays.

Great job by the MGT,
2 more people who badly need to rest.
Kobe, as he needs to recharge after committing to contribute for the US inspite of his extensive mileage
and Pau who worked like a dog for Spain. My goodness, I sure hope Pau saved some of his energy for the Lakers. The guy played pretty well against the US, Kobe might be wondering why didn't play that way with the Lakers last playoffs.

I think a slow start is possible for the reasons you mentioned.Plus Dwight won't be 100%
