Anderson used to fight at welterweight, but I'm not sure he can make 170 now. He's bigger now then when he was a welterweight.

They would be better off fighting at at 175 or 180 catch weight. That way whoever loses doesn't seem to effect their stands in their respective divisions.

Either way it happens, I highly doubt Anderson is willing to move down.

Both guys won't come to an agreement to move up or down and invade each others divisions. That's why I see them fighting at a catch weight if they ever set up this fight which I hope and think they will set up.

Tyrone Woodley vs. Robbie Lawler at the final Strikeforce event in January.

Gegard Mousasi is signing with the UFC if everything goes through as expected.

GSP has been winning all of his recent fights by decision (three years five fights). The second he gets somebody on his level he's not going to last. He's like Sonnen, except a lot weaker, with no finishing power you aren't going to keep winning against other great talent. He's been a lot stronger than his opponents and unlike other guys, who are eager to prove they are great, GSP knows his limitation and never goes up in weight where he knows he looses that advantage. Silva is like GSP in that he's bigger and stronger than guys in his weight division. Silva beat a great wrestler in Dan Henderson - who beat the heavyweight legend Fedor.

GSP doesn't have the same chin as Silva. GSP has also been surprised by strikes as well. GSP's lack of finishing power also sets him up to hit by a strike, as going 5 rounds with Silva is rare.

Ok, I'm sorry, but there's so much wrong here. Lemme break it down part by part.

Decision or not, he's clearly dominated all of his opponents.

No one at welterweight is at his level unfortunately.

This is wrong on so many levels. Chael's ground & pound is weak, GSP's isn't.

It's not his problem he's stronger than his opponents.

There's no need for him to move up in weight class when there's guys he can still fight in his own weight class.

If he has an advantage in a division he's dominating in, then it'd be dumb for him to leave the division he's got an advantage in.

No, they're the same size of the fighters in their division. They're dominant fighters who've dominated all of their opponents and that's why they look bigger than their opponents.

This has nothing to do with your original argument.

But to add to this, Hendo's a legend too and Fedor was on a losing streak already and past his prime which was in his PRIDE days.

Silva got dropped by Chael Sonenn who probably has the softest strikes in MMA.

Silva was surprised from strikes from Chael Sonnen.

GSP has some of the best wrestling MMA, something which Silva has struggled in the past against like against Hendo where he lost the first round before Hendo got goofy and got himself in a dangerous position where Silva then proceeded to rear naked choke him.

Although I will say that Silva has improved his wrestling and TDD as proven in the second Chael fight where Chael struggled to take him down.

I'm not saying GSP would beat Silva, but it's possible and people who don't think it is are either blind Silva fans or are really overlooking GSP and could be in for a surprise if the fight was ever put together as it's expected to.

Here's a random question for anyone reading-- What is the one (or two) essential fights that you would love to see at this point?

Disregard any difficulties of divisions, orgs, logistics, fighter sentiment (like how Cain and Cormier refuse to fight) and just tell me who would you like to see fight who....?

Aldo vs. Patricky Pitbull and combination of fights you can get out of Alvarez, Sanchez, Edgar, Melendez, Masvidal, Pettis, Bendo and Nate Diaz works for me.

Diego Sanchez vs. Takanori Gomi can possibly be happening at UFC on FUEL TV 8 and it's expected Sanchez beats Gomi in a fight that is 8 years to late and 8 years ago would have been one of the greatest fights in the history MMA and now not so much due to Gomi not being the same fighter he was 8 years ago, but it's still an interesting fight and should still be a really good fight.
