Default Dirk and DRose

I just traded Marc Gasol and Mullens for Dirk and DRose.

My team is now:

Lowry
Rose
Rubio
Kobe
JJ Redick
Manu
MWP
Anthony Davis
Dirk
Hibbert

Planning on dropping JJ for one of:

Vucevic, Hickson, Mcgee, Jason Thompson, or Nene.

1st: was this a good move?
2nd: who should I pick up?

not sure why you traded for rose. according to reports the guy is still weeks away from even practicing and projected estimates place his return around late february or march. in addition to rubio, davis, and dirk, that's FOUR injured players you've got on your roster...

anyways it's too late now. let's talk about what you can do.

i would drop rose for vucevic or thompson. keep redick imo, he will give you better production overall than any of the guys available that you listed. if you want to get rid of maybe try to package him in a trade instead of just dropping him.

I was under the impression he was already cutting based on some reports. I pegged him back by mid January. I made the move because my team as it was constructed would not be able to compete against the better teams IMO.

Also, Rubio should be back by the end of next week.

League format is 12 team H2H (Cats: FGM, FTM,3PTS, PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO's, PF's, Techs).

As much as I would like to keep Redick, I made the move for Rose, so I will need to move JJ due to just one C on my team.

Besides, if I can get these guys Rose by Feb, I stand a good chance to be able to make the playoffs at which point my team could do some damage. But my team will be lacking REB's, not PTS, which is why I would move JJ for a rebounding big FA.

Thanks for the input BTW.

in that case i would say vucevic has a slight edge over thompson in rebounds if that's what you're looking for, BUT i like thompson overall a little more

Agree with others that this might not have been the best trade, but not horrible either.

Dirk's back soon and should be ~ Marc Gasol, but in different cats.

I have Rose stashed in deep leagues, but I think a more realistic projection is after the All-Star game, although some reports are that he might not play this season at all. Even though he's been cutting, they might decide to be cautious since he probably came back too early from injury last year.

For those free agents, I would grab either Nene or Vucevic.
-Nene hasn't been great but he is still healing from injury and should be the best of the bunch if he gets healthy.
-Vucevic has been inconsistent but has shown a lot of potential including some big games.
-Thompson is steady but probably has the least potential.
-McGee has the most potential but isn't getting any PT...
-Never been a fan of Hickson b/c he gives empty points/fg%, but little else.

If Sanders is still available, I would grab him. He's starting now and has been a beast on boards/blocks.
