Y'all can laugh now but someday there will be a player comfortable out to 35 feet. I think shooters have consistently gotten better and require less and less time to get off a good shot. Maybe in 2100 if bball is still around someone will have mastered the halfcourt shot
well u can just that its not very plausible or logical or even a good idea to do that, and the fact that making shots about 25-50 ft closer to the hoop is much easier and exerts less energy and effort then it would to do that,3 pts is 3pts regardless whether its 23 ft out or 80 ft out its only 3 pts and if you have a bad game or go on a cold streak or u get tired later in game,it would be a lot easier closer to the rim now
This Question is MCGEE levels of absurd, come on man,how is this a question, think about it
they do practice half court shots for fun. its a good way to keep them engaged in the practice and keep a muscle memory for those shots when its needed for an emergency situation at the end of the game
If you practiced that type of shot for the rest of your life, the percentage of you actually making that shot consistently will only go up about 0.0000000000000001%... if that. Sooner or later, practice doesn't mean much. I guess A.I was right
Reminds me of this one time in high school when a friend of mine suddenly became obsessed with boxing. He had an upcoming backyard match against a fellow classmate who vastly outsized him. One of us was like, "Dude, you are going to get absolutely battered. He's going to smash your face." To that, my boxing friend responded, "Then I'll just put my hands up here" while bringing his arms to his face. We laughed and someone else reasoned, "Then he's just going to pound the crap out of your stomach!" to which my friend countered with, "Then I'll just put my hands down there."
if you can practice free throws, three pointers and difficult shots, WHY CANT YOU practice half court shots or grabbing a defensive rebound and quickly shooting it all the way down the court to the other basket? basketball is ALL ABOUT PRACTICE!
Imagine the implications of being able to shoot the ball IMMEDIATELY after you gain possession? 2 seconds or less! You would get 200% MORE possessions a game and easily be able to score 200 points a game.
That is exactly how the Raiders play football. Go ask them how it is working out.
