Default Surprised by Kobe/Nash fitting together so well

I don't know about you guys, but I was bit surprised this is working out very well so far. Both of them needed ball in their hands for very long stretches in past, but they have found a way to balance it out.. at least against the Knicks

Anyone notice Kobe give up the ball with clock ticking down to Nash? WHAT? Kobe giving up the ball willingly in clutch situation on last possession???? He has never done that before since 2000.. I mean he gave it to Shaq a few times to dunk it in but never to another player with clock ticking down to handle and to create the last shot.

I hope this continues for rest of season. Looking good so far. great game yesterday.. The team is playing better team defense too now with Nash back. looks like they're pumped by the return of the field general.

I liked what I saw too. Nash adds a type of "swag". The guys are more certain about their roles when Nash is controlling the tempo. Pau Gasol looks rejuvenated as well. This was truly a Christmas gift.

Terrific game, only 11 turnovers was good to see and only gave away 8 fast break points.

We might not have the best bench, it should get a little better when Blake comes back though and hopefully he'll have an Artest like rejuvination in the new offense.
And even though we don't have the best bench we have 5 players that I think can roll with everyone. Metta playing so much better is so much fun to see, he can't dribble worth a damn but he's back to being the shooter he was in Houston.

Last night everyone of the big 5 played great in their own right. Dwight made some key defensive plays and really looks focused on that end, and even though he's not getting that many shots he takes a lot of focus because he's the first option the defense looks to shut down. Also he didn't commit bonehead fouls last night fighting for position.
Pau almost had a tripple double and made terrifc passes all night, especially in the flex sets they ran, that flex offense shredded with Nash setting screens just shredded up the Knicks D, ran a bunch of different options that seemed to suprise the Knicks everytime.
Kobe scored effeciently, and like you mention did not play hero ball at the end.
And Nash, just awesome overall. He's one of the, if not the most fundamentally sound player of all time.

Hopefully this game was the new standard for the team.

They are both very smart players and veterans, I expected them to play well together.
Remember Kobe giving the ball to Luke Walton for a game winner and Luke was like WTF, I don't want the ball and tried to give it back as the clock expired Kobe went off on Luke immediately
A guy can pass all day, but if nobody makes a shot you can't get an assist.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. It was the lakers team that had Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, Brian Grant...etc.

Lakers were down 10 in regulation. They hit a bunch of threes to catch up and force overtime in the last minute. In over time it was close again. Kobe passed it to luke with about 2 seconds left. Rather than going up for the layup, Walton passed it back to Kobe who lost the ball, and at that point didn't even attempt to shoot. He slammed it down and screamed "SHOOT THE BALL!" at luke.

That game was always in the back of my mind for some reason....

Well, you were always the biggest Luke Walton fanboy (and only fan he has) so I can understand why you would remember it so vividly

I'm not surprised at all. Two of the smartest guards to ever play the game. Its a natural fit really.

What I am really impressed by is Nash and Morris fitting together.
