Parker is getting a 30-day suspension. I wanted to see him fired but that's because I find his presence annoying, not this stupid statement. Not sure what the appropriate punishment is, but I have the following question:
A near-50 year-old man is being given a "time-out." He has had similar punishment before, suspended 2 weeks by the Detroit News for claiming Kirk Cousins spearheaded a fight between the MSU football and hockey teams. If it's felt necessary to punish an adult man in this fashion is it a good idea to give him a job in the first place? Would anyone actually miss this guy?
you cant use that logic (especially at ESPN or some of these networks that do alot of punditry type programming) because there are alot of guys who regularly put their foot in their mouths
ESPN has so many of them, that this process of suspension is probably fairly common.
They'd have a huge problem everytime someone said something dumb if they set that precedent where they straight fire a guy for saying something dumb
They did it with a nut like Rush and even that was tough.
Im not saying i agree with the way they do things. I just think they are gonna try to avoid having to fire people over comments unless the public is demanding it
