BTW, I think Stern is a d!ck with a Capital D for having this game in London and airing at 3 pm...then the replays on NBA TV are even more inconvenient. Some of us have 9-5s
Knicks started the game strong, they were up like 16-2 after a few minutes of play. Melo hit 3 threes in the 1st quarter. At one point NY even had a 20 point lead.
In the 3rd quarter the Pistons came back, cut the lead to 4 but that's as close as they got. Knicks entered the 4th quarter with a 12 point lead and were even able to extend it with some threes by Novak.

Shumpert looked great considering it was his first game. His defense looked pretty good,he looked agile and even wanted to throw it down over someone (Maxiell I think) at one occasion but he missed the dunk.

Positives:
Shump looked great
Tyson had a nice game
Amare had his highest scoring game of the season
Knicks defense was pretty good with Shump on the floor

Negatives:
Kidd didn't look good
Stretches where defense is non existent.

Why is Woodson hell bent on playing so fukn small?

I know with Shump and Stat back he's looking to mix and match and find something that works but the Nets normal team is so large and there are no offensive benefits. Definitely hurts on the defensive and rebounding end.

I TOTALLY agree. I mean wassup? That's common sense. Nets are one of the biggest teams in the league. Why still go small? Makes ZERO sense

N I know Amare is still rusty but damn. Homie cant catch anymore? lol Str8 butter fingers.

This is a good game. Can't front. Both teams out there battling and making big time shots.

Tough loss but I really cant be all that mad. We battled. Shots didn't fall for us but nobody quit. Everyone played hard. Melo completely blew a shot he normally makes. I thought it was a pretty good look though. Is what it is. If we lose games like that, I can't be mad. Hope we bounce back and whoop the Celtics

I thought we were going to win this one when we grabbed a 1 point lead late in the 4th.
At least we've seen Melo and Amare working nice together.

Well, let's move on. I really want to beat the Celtics.

Not content with this loss.

You can't hold the Nets to 88 points and force 19 turnovers and lose.

And we only had 5 turnovers ourselves.

I thought many shots just didn't fall but the Knicks don't rebound well. They held the Nets for 5 minutes and did nothing with it. A terrible loss. The offense sucked!!!!

Amare looks good

-confident offensively

-effort towards rebounding and contesting shots

Amare can give so much more to the Knicks than his league wide image could produce in a trade right now. I'd assume scouts will notice where he is at and his trade value will increase, but I no longer expect him to be complete dead weight

That sure was an ugly game we played last night. Good thing our defense saved our asses last night because we couldn't hit the ocean with a beach ball.

Good defensive game grind out game. I think the Knicks did a better job on the boards. I think Doc messed up the rotation though he should have went to Sullinger.

We are killing Melo I dont know if he can play like this the whole season. Something has to change on the offensive end. His scoring is difficult even though it's versatile. I do think he should be getting more calls but I think the Knicks cry over every call which annoys me. I think he needs the FT's to preserve him.

I am concerned about the 4th quarter line up of Kidd, Jr, Shump, Melo, Chandler. This is a light undersized lineup. BUT lets see what happens when Felton is back. The Knicks need to find a C/PF to replace Camby or Sheed.

He was never dead weight to begin with. Just injured. And he is a million times better than Bargnani, whose team is thriving with his departure.

Amare played great last night. Efficient on offense, had some big rebounds and also 2 blocks.

We need him to play like this more often. We don't need him to score 25-30 every night. We just need a good,all-around game from him with the ability to step up on offense if Melo can't get it going.

Amar'e looks a lot faster this year. Bulking up the summer before last was a bad idea, obviously. And the summer with Hakeem looks to have helped, he's going to the post more.

His back-to-the-basket game def looks much improved...
