Today on Around The Horn Woody Paige said that the Chiefs should trade the #1 Overall Pick to the Eagles for Nick Foles.

Maybe the 1st pick for Foles and the 5th pick would make a little sense, but not a lot. But why would the Eagles want to trade up to the 1st pick anyway?

My guess would be to draft Joeckle.

Georgia ILB and likely top 20 pick Alec Ogletree was arrested and charged with a DUI last weekend.

Matt Barkley will not throw at the combine after doctors didn't medically clear his shoulder. He still plans to throw at the USC pro day.

Your guess would be dumb. Bad trade for the Eagles to make giving up a young QB and the 5th pick for #1. I like Joeckle. But not at that price because Foles could easily fetch back more value than to be thrown in with the 5th pick to move up 4 spots. No thanks. You could also argue a healthy OL fares better and you can find Peters replacement elsewhere be it draft or free agency.

At that price? Going from #5 to #1 is a 1300 point difference, the equilivent of the 10th overall pick... that's a lot of value for Foles.

Franchise left tackles don't just pop up in free agency often. They're either old or a huge injury risk going forward if they ever do hit the market.

You need to get better up front. It's not a sexy pick, but it's a winning one.

Eagles OL when healthy is solid. The DL and defense is the biggest issue. Given how weak this QB class is Foles could fetch a first rd pick. Especially with Matt Barkley shoulder woes.

When healthy. Keyword.

Joeckle IS healthy. He can step right in and be an effective right or left tackle. If Peters gets back to form, you have yourself two tackles that you can go to war with.

I'd have absolutely no problem and would welcome that trade if I were an Eagle fan and it was known before the draft that Joeckle would not be available at 4th.

Matt Barkley measured in at 6'2 1/2 and 227 pounds at the combine weigh in.

Good measurement for Barkley, he measured 1/2 foot taller than his listed college height. Now if he can prove he has some arm strength he might be able to rise his stock back into the 1st round.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff OT Terron Armstead, who weighs 305 pounds, ran a 4.65 40 at the combine today. He could be sneaking into the second round. Crazy athlete.

Chris Gragg killed it today among TE's. Unfortunate he was hurt most of the year. Arkansas might not've been as big of a dumpster fire if Wilson had a healthy Gragg to go with Cobi Hamilton.

Anyway, Gragg (6'3" 245) ran an unofficial 4.45 40 which ended up being a 4.50 officially; had a 10.5 in the broad jump; and a 37.5" vertical. All three were tops among TE's. Being undersized will keep him from being drafted as high as someone who was 6'5"+ would be after posting those combine numbers, but he's still a sick athlete for someone who's 6'3" 245.
