Hey cmon! That's just totally classless. We can't be celebrating injuri... Yea that was kinda good. I don't mind Granderson but obviously him missing maybe a month of the season helps the Jays. Way to gay JA(y)!
Weird situation with Happ though. I actually think he's a damn good option as a #5 starter for any good team but there just isn't room for him now. Nice problem for the Jays to have and not have to call up a Chad Jenkins this year. But kinda sucks for Happ.
As much as it sucks, I feel we have to keep Happ around even if it means sending him to Buffalo for a bit. I'm uneasy about Ricky and his knees/overall suckage last year and would like to keep a lefty starter who can step in at least long enough to establish that Ricky is fine.

Oh I'm totally in favour of keeping Happ too. He's solid. I just hope he won't be a problem given his reduced role.
DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) -- Ryan Howard hit a two-run homer off R.A. Dickey, but Jose Reyes and the Toronto Blue Jays touched up Cliff Lee in an 11-6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
Reyes and Melky Cabrera each doubled and Edwin Encarnacion had an RBI single in a two-run first inning off the 2008 AL Cy Young Award winner. Lee allowed five hits, including Emilio Bonifacio's solo shot in the second.
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Team Canada got a huge power boost on Monday.
Joey Votto held a session with the media to announce that he will play for Team Canada in the WBC.
Votto plans on joining the Canadian squad, which is currently working out at Goodyear Ballpark, on Thursday for the start of the first round of games.
"I look forward to playing for the team," Votto said.
"I look forward to being a part of the tournament. I had a great time the last time. I'm very grateful I'm on the team. It's not very often you get to represent your country in a big tournament like this. I never got to play in the Olympics, this is the next best thing."
Canada added Votto to its roster at the deadline last month, but he wanted to play in Cactus League games to test his surgically repaired left knee before making a final decision.
Votto said he received support to play from the Reds, including CEO Bob Castellini. He expects to play at first base and designated hitter, splitting time with Twins first baseman Justin Morneau.
So I've finally found a legit beef with AA for the moves he's made. One of the benefits of being a Toronto sports fan is that in every major sports games franchise mode you get the joy of completely overhauling a terrible team into a contender.
Well The Show 13 is out now and thanks to AA all I legit feel the need to upgrade is 1B, 2B, CF and the 5th SP. And all I get in return is The Blue Jays having a shot at a real life World Series.
Oh well, I guess I can always overhaul the minors.
Sounds like Romero is even more brutal lately. Not a good sign when you are changing your mechanics with the season only 2 weeks away.
If he's not magically fixed by then, Happ should be the #5 guy. You don't let Ricky "work things out" against the Red Sox in such an important season. Fix yourself in AAA.

Agree 100%. Ricky at his best is clearly better than Happ, but he's so erratic now that I'll take the steadier hand of Happ in the fifth slot of the rotation, even if that hand has an ERA of 4 and has more hitable stuff. We're not looking for an ace in that spot after all. This year is not the year to work out kinks in the Bigs.

I don't think they should, but they can afford to give him a couple starts if they choose to do so. If he breaks with the team, I'd expect a short leash, however.
Well I got my wish re: Ricky, although I never would have guessed going from guaranteed a spot as of yesterday to a SINGLE A demotion today after what was not even a disaster outing today.
