The Angels renewed Mike Trout's contract for 510,000 dollars which is barely above the minimum. His agent isn't happy about it.
Not much of a story. The agent is desperate to prove himself to Trout. There's zero percent chance of this guy being around once Trout hits arbitration. The Angels aren't stupid. There's no reason to give this guy anything he's asking for when he's going to be dumped for Boras, CAA or one of the other super agent groups in another year or two.
Braun gave up 2 years to get his money. I highly doubt Trout has given Landis the authority to talk about anything long term.

Trout and the Angels understand he's outgrown his current agency. Reporters will listen to him, even if nobody else does. His bitterness makes a good story.
So far, Diamondbacks players haven't shied away from taking their shots at Bauer. I heard radio interviews with Putz and Kennedy blasting the kid. It doesn't appear anyone on the team liked him. That's okay if you're Barry Bonds and Curt Schilling. Well, once Schilling proved to be good enough to ignore his shitty personality.
Putz said something to the effect of: "Bauer was humbled last year, and he probably deserves to be humbled a bit more"
No one on the Dbacks was interested in Trashing Upton on his way out, however.

Yeah, he seems like a jackass.
The opposite of Bauer might be Matt Harvey. He is a tough, no-nonsense guy and his teammates like him. He doesn't think it is funny that the Mets stink. He is there to win. He also said he likes pitching in front of big crowds. He will probably have to endure a poor team record and spotty crowds for at least one more year.
So for those in keeper leagues and you want a young pitcher, grab the guy with his head on straight.
Halladay got rocked today in his start. His fastball velocity topped out in the mid 80's. Hopefully he returns to form, but his velocity today is definitely concerning.
On Sunday I went to the Reds-White Sox game in Phoenix. Had seats almost right behind the Reds dugout. Had a great time even though the stadium was half empty, Cueto started for the Reds and looked good and Choo went 4 for 4. The Reds look like they are going to have a really, really good team this year.
Anybody have any experience with MLB.TV on their PS3? I'm considering buying that since it's $130 so I can watch the Rays this year. The alternative is MLB Extra Innings but that's almost $200 and I can't really use it anywhere but on the tv. The only real major concern I have with MLB.TV is the fact that I'd have to stream games.
