Hidamari Sketch Gets New Anime of Sae & Hiro's Graduation

Quote:
The "Chō Hidamatsuri in Nippon Budōkan" event announced on Sunday that production on a new anime in the Hidamari Sketch franchise has been green-lit. The new anime will center on the graduation of the characters Sae and Hiro. Ryoko Shintani — the voice of Sae — confirmed the announcement on her blog after the event; the live program ran so late that the franchise's official Twitter account apologized to the attendees.

Hidamari Sketch's story centers around a high school for the arts and the everyday life of some of its students. Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine published the original manga by Ume Aoki (Puella Magi Madoka Magica designer) in Japan. Yen Press publishes the Sunshine Sketch manga in North America, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the four television anime series.

Just finished reading Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, pretty good read. Kinda reminded me of Trigun in some ways.

Hell they've been talking about it for years. Crypton, the creators of the Vocaloid program, have already said they're releasing the English voice bank in North America this summer.

Miku has already taken America by storm, not to mention they're putting her video games into arcades in America, and are possibly in the process of releasing her PS3 game in America as well. It's only a matter of time before she really takes off here.

That's Project Diva right? I'd be interested in getting that, mostly because I enjoy rhythm games and nobody but Japan ever seems to do them. I suppose I could just import a copy since it doesn't really require knowing Japanese to play but it would just be easier if I could get it off of PSN.

Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! 'Contract Renewed' Teaser Aired

The final episode of the Tamako Market television anime series ended on Wednesday night (effectively early Thursday morning) with a teaser video for the Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! anime that simply stated, "Contract renewed." The show's official website also features a new visual (pictured at right) with the same words.

he show's official Twitter account has also asked fans to wait for more information in a follow-up report. Kyoto Animation produced both anime series.

The Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! television anime series premiered in Japan last October. Sentai Filmworks acquired the series for digital and home video distribution in North America, and The Anime Network is streaming the series.

Oh man, I'm excited. I really loved that show, it was so funny. But I really don't know where they'd go with a second season, plot-wise.

And this is why I love Rikka.

Kyoto Animation: Kyōkai no Kanata Anime Is in the Works
Quote:
Kyoto Animation updated its website for Nagomu Torii's Kyōkai no Kanata (Beyond the Boundary) light novel series on Wednesday to reveal that an anime adaptation is in the works.

The dark fantasy follows a high school sophomore named Akihito Kanbara. Although the boy appears human, he is half yōmu and invulnerable to wounds because he can heal quickly. One day, Akihito meets freshman Mirai Kuriyama when it seems she is about to jump from the school rooftop. Mirai is isolated because of her ability to manipulate blood, which is unique even among members of the spirit world. Disturbing events begin to unfold after Akihito saves Mirai.

Kyōkai no Kanata received an honorable mention in the novel category of the Kyoto Animation Award program in 2011. The studio released the first volume last year, and the second volume will ship on Monday. To promote the first volume, the studio already released an animated television commercial:

This is one of the books that Kyoani is publishing. They released a commercial for it a while ago and I thought it would be cool if they actually did an anime out of it, and now they are. As much as I enjoy their SoL, it would be cool to see them do something a little more action oriented.
