Nnamdi inks a one year deal with SF for 1.35 mil base salary. Apparently he didn't want any guaranteed money.

Nnamdi? Yeah I'll take it. I'm a little bummed it's a 1 year though.

If that secondary gets shored up and we stay healthy I really think it's setting up to be a very special year.

The Raiders have traded QB Carson Palmer and 2013 7th Round Pick to the Cardinals for a 2013 6th Round Pick and a Conditional 2014 7th Round Pick.

Cardinals are going to be a dark horse team next year. They'll address their o-line with their first pick in a strong OL class and possibly pickup another player in FA or the draft, suddenly that o-line looks like a solid group on paper.

Palmer can still play and I don't think it's fair to judge his play in Oakland as an indicator of his talent. Oakland is a black hole. Arians is a solid coach with QB's and they do have weapons offensively and that defense is solid.

If they didn't play in such a tough division i'd say they'd be a playoff team easily but I do believe they have the talent to grab a wildcard spot.

An interesting signing today for the Falcons: Brian Banks. I remember reading about this last year, hopefully he can make the team.

Some links: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...-his-nfl-dream

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...tlanta-falcons

Some interesting quotes:

Quote:
He had verbally committed to USC as a junior at Long Beach Poly in 2002 before he pleaded no contest to a charge of rape and kidnap. Banks then spent the next five years and two months in prison. He risked a 41-year sentence if he was found guilty.

Quote:
"In order for me to exit prison with sane mind and be able to just function as the same person, I had to let go of certain dreams and goals," Banks said during a conference call Wednesday. "Football being one of them. ... For me, I had to let that go. I had to let those dreams go in order for me to just focus on what was in front of me -- and that was five years in prison that was a completely different life of violence and just being away from your family and all the different elements that go with prison"

Quote:
After spending five years behind bars, Banks spent another five years on probation. He couldn't live within 2,000 feet of a school or park, had to register as a sex offender, wore a GPS ankle bracelet and couldn't travel without permission. He was exonerated on May 24, 2012, after a private investigator taped his accuser, Wanetta Gibson, admitting she lied about Banks raping and kidnapping her

Wow, what a btch. I really hope Banks can make the roster...completely missed out on what should have been the best days of his life because of a lying female. Probably was viewed as a piece of sht while everyone just felt bad for the chick.

Their defense, which is the key to whatever limited success they might have this season, just lost it's best player for the first quarter of the season.

Lions also signed David Akers. I'm hoping we'll see 2011 Akers and not 2012 Akers this year.

They have them in the Aussie Rules football too. Just happened this weekend.
