Default Hawks hold pick Nos. 17 and 18 in draft

The Hawks will have two first-round picks, Nos. 17 and 18 overall, in June’s NBA draft. They also will have two second-round picks, Nos. 47 and 50 overall.
The NBA conducted tie-breakers Friday through random drawing to set the draft order after the lottery teams.

The extra picks originally belonged to the Rockets. The Hawks get their first-round pick (No. 18) through the Nets as part of the Joe Johnson trade. The second-round pick (No. 50) was part of a 2009 trade between the Hawks and Rockets for David Anderson.

I hope that the Hawks will use those picks to get some bigs to come off the bench. I'm tired of them signing and drafting all these 6'8-6'9 tweeniers and playing them at the 5. I also would like to see the Hawks get a PG to play off the bench with John Jenkins. They should take a look at Isaiah Canaan, Erick Green, Elijah Johnson, and Peyton Siva.
