I'd welcome Ellington. Good scorer. Good shooter and good moving without the ball. Would come pretty cheap i'd assume as well.

Looks like Metta World Peace might be amnestied by the Lakers.
Since he'll still be getting a pay cut he may join a contender for very cheap.
Maybe he'd welcome a return to Chicago in order to contend.

He obviously has his issues, but he's still a really good defender, plays hard and gives it his all every night. Thibs would love his effort and intensity. He would certainly add to our toughness. His defensive ability mixed in with our team defense would be very good. He's also capable of hitting open threes.
Another body that we can throw at LeBron and Melo.
Just a thought.

Nate still hasn't signed anywhere.
Chances he comes back?

I'd like him back. A combo of him and Hinrich coming off the bench in the backcourt would be pretty nice. Kirk could facilitate on offense and guard the better player in the backcourt on the other team on defense. Nate could score and create for himself and others while guarding the lesser player.
At times Nate could play with DRose and be an aggressive scoring backcourt.

Rose - Hinrich - Teague

Butler - Robinson - Ellington

Deng - Dunleavy - Snell

Boozer - Gibson - Murphy - Thomas

Noah - Mohammed

With Artest being amnestied and interest in Brand early on in free agency, perhaps an early career reunion at the Bulls can happen?

Artest under Thibbodeau in a defensive minded team would be a sight to see. Brand could certainly help rest Noah on the bench.

I wouldn't mind MWP, but how many SFs can we carry? Jimmy, Deng, Snell, MWP?

I love Deng, but it's time to trade him. Rose, Butler, Noah are the core moving forward. Trade Deng for a scorer and a backup big... or just a scorer, as I'm not entirely sure on Deng's value around the league.

I totally understand your thinking here but I believe the Bulls have gathered at this point that no one is willing to deal anything truly worthwhile enough to the Bulls to trade away Deng.

Other teams know the Bulls might not even bring him back next summer, not much leverage for the Bulls.

And i think we can agree that you don't just trade away Luol for garbage. This team deserves one more chance to find a way to be healthy for a playoff run.

Miami is praying that doesn't happen.

Elton Brand is still out there. He's a smart veteran that could provide some decent minutes behind Noah and splitting those backup minutes with Mohammed as long as he signs for the vet minimum I'd like the acquisition.

. Butler is going to be our starting two guard. If Snell cracks the rotation and earns some playoff time he'll most likely get most of his minutes at two guard as well. If MWP did come here he'd find some minutes behind Deng.

Butler may be the starting SG, but I think we can agree that he is a SF.
IMO, the Bulls badly need three things:
1) Wing scorer that can create his own shot
2) More 3p shooting (Dunleavy/Snell/Murphy are helping)
3) A shot-blocking force

Deng to the Peli's for Gordon and a pick, since they seem to enjoy tossing those around? Could we maybe get Dalembert on the cheap? (doubtful)

Rose - Hinrich - Teague
Gordon - Hinrich - Snell
Butler - Dunleavy - Snell
Boozer - Gibson - Murphy
Noah - Dalembert (though again, very doubtful)

Why trade a guy that plays through injuries and sickness for a guy that NEVER plays? It doesn't make sense.

It was just a suggestion. Any similar player would work. But the Bulls are not beating the Heat with their current roster, short of some drastic injury for Miami. They just are not good enough. Need to make changes. If Gordon (or another shooter that can create his own shot and is not terrible defensively) plays with Rose, Butler, Noah and Boozer.. that's a very legit lineup.

I love the Bulls roster, I love how hard they play, I'm proud of their heart, I'm proud to be a fan... but we just don't have the necessary ceiling. Changes need to be made, and they're going to be tough changes.

"Changes need to be made?"

Trading Deng for Eric Gordon? Lol. That is a change that doesn't need to be made.

If Chicago can stay healthy, they can beat anyone.

What's the word on Nate Robinson? How has he not been signed or rumored to have offers from multiple teams outside of Chicago?

I could see ATL making a run at him if Jeff Teague gets away, but outside of that?

Lots of people think the Warriors, since they need a backup for Curry. And a few guys think the Jazz.

Gordon without the injury history? Sure, he would be a good option.

But there is no reason to trade away a handy Deng for an often injured Gordon.

I hope we keep Nate. Probably has no chance of happening but it's impossible not to think of the good he would do with a healthy roster.

I think this team has the potential to be better than te 62-10 team.

Butler & Dunleavy, a healthy Rose, and rested Deng (no UK team), Boozer, and Noah might put enough together to beat the Heat who looked tired and desperate in the finals.
