I understand building ballparks to fit your team, or molding your team based on the home park, but there needs to be some regulations when creating parks. That amount of foul territory should be outlawed; it's ridiculous. As for the sun, I was listening to the broadcast and they mentioned the sun being a factor, but I never thought it was THAT much of a factor. Jays were like little leaguers...

the coliseum is a multipurpose stadium so the A's really don't have much control over how much foul territory there is, also it is the oldest park after Fenway/Wrigley. If the A's ever get a new ballpark it definitely will be more conventional than the current set up. As for the Sun it seems like everyone has difficulty with it in Oakland but the A's. Even teams that have familiarity with playing day games there like divisional opponents have had some issues in the past.

The Reds are really treading water right now. They are coming off a 5-6 west coast trip, where they played really well at times (like at San Fran), and awful at others (the rest of the trip).

Starting pitching has been outstanding. Anyone of those guys is capable of going out and completely dominating the opposing team. The bullpen has also been outstanding (sans Chapman allowing that walkoff HR). My main concern is the offense. While we are 2nd in the NL in total runs, it feels like that's the result of some really big games, and the rest of the time, we struggle with RISP, and situational hitting.

Our series vs. STL is big this weekend. I think it's too late to get back in the division, but if we are gonna play in that WC game, I'd rather it be at our place.

The rangers have won via walkoff homer the last 3 games. Hopefully that gives us some momentum

Atlanta's offense (and the team) continuing their hot and cold ways this season. They've won 7 in a row and just completed a 4-game sweep of the Rockies where they outscored them 40-13. And the runs were consistent, too. Meaning they didn't rack up 15-20 runs in one game. Won the first game 9-8, second game 11-3, third game 9-0, and fourth game 11-2.

Josh Johnson went from being one of the best pitchers to one of the absolute worst.

It's crazy how much money he's cost himself. Johnson was probably looking at a new mulit-year contract probably anywhere from $70-90 million if he had a good year. Now he's going to be hoping that the Jays give him the $14 million qualifying offer so he can rebuild his value on a one-year deal.

I feel like it's nearing "Twilight Zone" territory now, because every time I see a Blue Jays boxscore on the nights Johnson pitches, it's something like 3.1 IP, 9 H, 6 ER.

And at least somewhat aided by Seattle's manager pointing to the wrong arm, meaning he had to bring in the pitcher he didn't want to bring in, ultimately leading to Victorino getting a 2-RBI base hit.

The Giants are bottom feeders right now - of course they played well against them.
