Anthony Davis made a surprise return to action on Wednesday night and had 24 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and zero blocks in a loss to the Clippers.
He's back! This was just his third game of the season without a block. He failed to block a shot on the night he got hurt, when he played just 10 minutes, and didn't record a block in 26 minutes back on Nov. 12. Davis came off the bench and severely limited what Al-Farouq Aminu and Jason Smith were able to offer tonight, and there should be more where that came from going forward. Expect him to be back in the starting lineup sooner than later, while it remains to be seen if it will be Ryan Anderson, AFA or Smith who goes to the bench. Anderson was coming off the bench before Davis' injury, but it's possible the Pelicans could decide to start him over AFA or Smith. Anderson had 17 points, nine boards and three 3-pointers, and will hold his value either way. Stay tuned.
