Racism is an issue today, but an insignificant reason for why Trump won.
I thought it was percentage? Like he had more 1% more than Romney on black voters and 29% or 30% of Hispanic voters. That's different than overall turnout of voters. Dunno if this the case, but Romney may have had more votes of the minorities for him but less of a percentage.
Like if only 100 Hispanics voted, you only got 20% of them to vote for you, then you had 20 Hispanic votes. But if you had 10 Hispanic who voted, you get 30% of them to vote for you, then you had 3 Hispanic.
Plus the turnout in 2012 was bigger across the board, wasn't it? At least so far. Despite that, it's pretty shocking that he even got that much.
I don't think it's about race with Trump either on most ppl who voted for him.

I have a lot of worries with Trump on a several things. And Net Neutrality is in danger and that is going to suck since he and some of the republicans are against it. Hopefully he'll be a good pres and it won't be as bad as I think.
We'll see.

It really just depends on who gets their hands on him, imo. Like I explained above, I do not think he is prepared for the job and, even though he is a narcissist, I would assume he is able to recognize at least that much. Therefore, it is going to depend on who he surrounds himself with ... that will prove to be the story of his presidency.
It was said many months ago when he initially won the Republican primary that he went to John Kasich and told him he would give him complete control of foreign and domestic policies if he would accept being vice president. Although I respect Kasich for turning him down, I wish he would have accepted in hindsight.
I don't agree with Kasich on a ton when you get down to the actual issues, but I do think he is a good man who would work with both sides and help heal what has become a completely fractured country.
Now we're stuck with the likes of Mike Pence and Rudy Giuliani whispering in his ear. It's scary and, yes... Net Neutrality will be on the menu.
I just hope Trump proves me wrong, puts people in place who can be reasonable, and just relaxes in his position of figurehead. That's the best we can hope for, imho.

Ergh...yeah. Ergh...
Whelp as you said, hope for the best and fear the worst. And I would rather John Kasich be the VP. And like you said, in hindsight, should've took the job.
I don't want a bad president. But some of the things the proposed in his campaign is a step backwards and against what I would like. I'm also wary on the trade deal polices he'll do. I just don't know what he'll try. And the relations of our allies. There's a lot of shit that's on the table. Clean air/global warming, Net Neutrality, increase tariffs on some countries and renegotiate trade deals, he wanted 70% of regulations cut but don't know which ones, healthcare reform again, whatever he'll defund stem cell research or not, and NATO.
Best of hope guys. Hopefully we'll prosper for it, but we're in for a ride of uncertainty.

Don't get me wrong, I think he showed to have horrible character and he just seems like a terrible person in general. But my fears are more deep-seeded than that.
If you pulled him away from his surrogates and asked him to explain, on the spot, how a bill becomes a law, I'm not sure he could give you the correct answer. In fact, I'm pretty sure he couldn't.
So, you guys can continue to attack Clinton or call anyone with an opposing viewpoint a "cuck" like every other alt-right robot, but there is literally nothing you can say that will make Trump a man who should be holding a public office ... let alone President of the United States.

isnt this exactly the problem though,
people voted for trump because they are most likely sick and tired of bullshitting POLITICIANS that never keep there promises
this is the countries way of saying **** you we don't believe your bullshit propaganda anymore
dont get me wrong I believe what you are saying is right I am sure trump would have no idea about policies and procedures but most big ceos have no idea about the nitty gritty things that happen within there company
I believe Bernie was the man for the job, the politicians didn't like him though because he probably actually wanted to help other people not wage more wars

I honestly couldn't give a crap what Pop thinks about politics.
I suppose he thinks the crooked evil bitch should have won instead.

I have this sinking feeling for all his talk of being an "outsider" and draining the swamp, he's going to get manipulated like a sock puppet by some of these Washington elites.
The 60 Minutes interview didn't give me much hope. When pressed on why he has so many lobbyists on his transition team when that's what his whole campaign has been railing against, he gave some BS answer about how "they're all lobbyists, but I'll phase it out eventually."
Hopefully I'm wrong, maybe he can bring some actual change to Washington. But I surmise many of these politicians who stuck with him through the tough times of his campaign are expecting a little payback from the Donald in the form of satiating an agenda of them and their OWN lobbyists' interests at heart.
In the end, more people picked this man to be commander in chief (even then I've been hearing she might win the popular vote?) so I have to put my own person concerns with his agenda aside (pro-choice, environment/green energy, etc.) and trust he'll help this country prosper to some extent.

Re: Pop says President Trump makes him sick
We're talking about a country that had an actor for President from 81-89.
George W Bush was a President, basically because his dad was the President.
The Terminator was Governor of California.
Jesse Ventura was Governor of Minnesota.
It's a pretty low bar for Trump, a savvy and experienced businessman, to better. LOL.

Reagan was an experienced politician, even if being governor is a different world all together as compared to being POTUS. He served two terms as governor of California and then ran (and was defeated by Gerald Ford) in the 1976 Republican Primary before he became president.
Reagan was a statesman who understood the way government works, at least. And, there are a lot of historians who believe he was overly influenced by his cabinet. There is a very famous video of him being scolded in front of Wall Street by his closest adviser, Don Regan.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR3RqMMIwD4
The same applies to George W. Bush, but even with him, by the end of his two terms, we were embroiled in two stagnated wars that cost trillions of dollars, the power of the president and the state had grown exponentially, and the banking industry had almost completely collapsed.
There is nothing savvy about Trump. His most powerful attribute has been his brand, which he has used effectively over the years. He essentially leases out his name and is a reality television host. There will be a lot of people attempting to gain access (and thereby control) to him.
Everyone should be concerned. This was never a game and it could have dire consequences. I'm honestly not trying to scare anyone, but Trump is a man who -- in order to stay qualified for the office -- had to have his cell phone confiscated by campaign staff due to uncontrollable 3am twitter trolling.
This guy is going to have the mental fortitude to keep a firm grip on the highest seat in the free world? Either way, this country got what it wanted. Now just hope for the best.

Re: Pop says President Trump makes him sick
What Pop, the media, Hillary, DNC, establishment republicans/democrats, Hollywood, and academia didn't realize is half the country is sick and tired of talk of sexism, racism, and whatever other "ism" is out there. They just want a decent paying job to put food on the table and pay the mortgage. Unfortunately for Pop and others above, Trump saw that need (especially in the rust belt states), connected with those people and earned their votes. I don't think Hillary even campaigned there until near the end.

This
Trump fed em some BS that they wanted to hear and they ate it up. But that was still something while Hillary didn't at all. Hillary's campaign's message didn't target those people and the people saw that.

Well, he also promised a whole lot of stuff that he won't ever be able to do (or will have horrible consequences if he does).
Basically he promised 365 days of sunshine for next year if he got elected, plus eating the cake and having it, too. And there were enough people who actually believed enough of this sh*t to vote for him.
It's easy to "target" people if you are willing to make promises without regards for reality.

Hillary's campaign message was that Trump was racist, sexist, ...ist and therefore unfit to be president and basically more of the same (continuation of Obama).
Trump campaigned on CHANGE - to repeal/replace Obamacare, drain the swamp, re-do trade deals, build a wall, jobs/economy, etc. Now, how much of that he can get done is another topic, but at least he spoke to the voters' concerns.
