Euro soccer players' salary has announced is actually NET total with agent fees paid, taxes paid by the team etc... So when messi is said to earn 50 million or whatever it's the amount he gets in his bank account.

NBA, NFL etc salaries are GROSS total. Kobe may make $25 million But a big chunk will go to his agent, taxes to uncle Sam, and any obligational fees. So he will end up maybe with $16 million out of that $25 mil.

thats pretty sad. you've got some really talented players over there. as i was in the us in the course of a school exchange, nearly everyone was playing soccer. for real. especially the girls, but lots of the boys also. it was funny to see, that lots of people were playing soccer, but only watching nfl or nba

and btw: nobody cared about baseball. never seen anyone playing it. but mlb players are paid in a ridiculous way
