Hmmm Shaq and Kobe went to 4 finals, won 3 straight and both were among the best individual players in the league.

Finals- 35.9 ppg, 15.2 rpg, 3.5 apg, 3.2 bpg, 59.5 FG%

Kobe

1999-2000
Regular Season- 22.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.9 apg, 1.6 spg 46.8 FG%
Playoffs- 21.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.5 spg, 44.2 FG%
Finals- 15.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.0 spg, 36.7 FG%

2000-2001

During that time Shaq won a scoring title, 3 Finals MVP's, regular season MVP and finished among the league leaders in rebounds and blocks twice. He was top 3 in scoring all 3 years too.

In those 3 years Shaq finished top 3 in MVP voting all 3 years and was clearly robbed in '01 of his second MVP. Kpbe also finished top 5 one year and 9th another.

In 2003 Kobe finished 3rd in MVP and Shaq finished 5th while they took a crappy supporting cast to 50 wins and the 2nd round of the playoffs.

In 2004 Kobe and Shaq finished 5th and 6th respectively in MVP voting and won 56 games while reaching the Finals.

No matter how much adversity the Kobe and Shaq Lakers never got knocked out in the first round, the T-Mac/Yao Rockets haven't made it past the first round. Losing in the finals was considered a failure for that team, some including Loki have even argued that as a duo Shaq and Kobe were better than Jordan and Pippen.

In comparison this is the Rockets 4 years of Yao and T-Mac to compare those years to.

In 2005 T-Mac finished 7th in MVP voting, in 2007 he finished 6th and in 2008 he finished 8th. Yao has never even gotten votes as far as I know.

In 3 seasons(not including 2005-2006) the Rockets have averaged 53 wins with T-Mac and Yao and never made it past the first round. In the Lakers 3peat seasons they averaged 60 wins. And before the injury excuse is used in those 3 seasons Shaq averaged 73 games per season and Kobe averaged 71 games per season while T-Mac has averaged 72 games in the seasons I mentioned and Yao averaged 61 so the only difference is that Yao missed 10 more games per season than Kobe pretty much.

You may say those 10 games more than make up for the 7 additional losses that the Rockets have averaged but the Rockets went 40-23 without Yao in those 3 seasons.

The Lakers had plenty of injuries and more adversity than the Rockets could possibly have yet in their two non-championship seasons this decade with O'Neal and Bryant they won 50 games each year, got to the 2nd round and got to the finals.

This is a laughable statement by Wallace...oh wait wasn't he on that 2002 Kings team? Maybe he's not exactly an un bias opinion.

Garnett and Pierce proved to be a better duo...they won 66 games and the championship. They destroyed a favored Lakers team, beat the reigning Eastern Conference champs and beat the best Eastern Conference team of the decade(Detroit). Garnett finished 3rd in MVP voting and won the Defensive Player Of The Year award while Pierce also got a few votes.

This is a ridiculous statement. Didn't Wallace have a concussion last year though? I guess he never fully recovered.

Crash is gone. His doctors forbade him to kamikaze into the zone any more, so he now takes more outside shots and generally plays less aggressively.

only a laker fan can turn an NBA players comment on a different team to offend kobe and the superlakers.

I'm surprised Wallace doesn't make some quote like "Ewing Jr. is the best player named Ewing since ... uh Patrick Ewing."
