This is what I wonder about. There are plenty of lyrically gifted African American rappers who aren't anywhere near the success level of Eminem. I think Em is definitely the best emcee in the game, but if he were a black dude rapping the way he does, we'd have forgotten about him, just like we forgot about Cannabis.

He's never been overrated. Black people just get mad he's so good at "their" craft sort of deal. His content on his albums the past few years have been garbage, but that's cause he's old and out of touch in terms of his material. But his actual skills? Well they are ridiculous to say the least.

And when he made the gerbel felching song on his greatest hits album, I gained hella more love and respect for him. His greatest hits album, with ONE NEW UNRELEASED song. All the controversy at the time, people thinking he's gonna put out a "deep political angry" song and he put out a song about felching and coming to quick , using cartman styles. Doesnt get much gangster than that!!!!!
